Namibia, west Sossusvlei ?
If it’s not that, then possibly western Mauritania, near Nouakchott?
Yes that’s it. Very well done. Had a hunch you’d be the one to solve it.
Sorry for the late response, totally missed it with the hype around the A2A Comanche

Great Sand Dunes National Park, Colorado?
That’s it!
San Luis valley is a huge valley in Southern Colorado and New Mexico. The sand was made from the volcanic San Juan mountain range to the west of the valley. The sand is nestled up on the East side of the valley against the Sangre De Cristo Mountain range. This mountain range got its name by the colors at sunset on the mountains. They turn bright orange and red, hints the blood of Christ. The San Luis Valley floor is over 10,000 square miles and actually makes up 10% of Colorado’s landmass.
The valley floor is also an aquifer that holds water about 3feet down. You can see the “intermittent” creek below the helicopter. This creek rises and falls with rain fall, sometimes it’s a river and sometimes it’s bone dry to cross into the sand dunes. It’s very dangerous in a flash flood. This area is rich with farming, camping, fishing and all great things outdoors!
Rafha, Saudi Arabia
Yes that’s the one. I don’t know if you were able to spot the livery on the A320, it was quite the clue, although very pixellated on the forum post-upload.
Unfortunately I only recognized the flag on the plane when I already searched in Saudi Arabia and felt that it might be the right country. It would have saved me quite some time. It was mainly the look of the ground and the layout of the roads and buildings that led me to this region.
Former Poggio San Vittore asbestos mine in Balangero and Corio, Italy.
What’s happened to you!!! Have they abducted you and inserted some alien genes?
Lol hoping to declare my first back to back win if my answer is confirmed! Must be an exclusive club?
Yes, that‘s it. That was quick!
