Xbox users cannot use the majority of third-party add-ons, so there is a large chunk of the playerbase that would miss out.
Personally, I had previously voted for this topic. I don’t use third-party traffic add-ons and think that this is a ‘core feature’ of the sim either way and it should be improved!
Has there been any mention on offline AI traffic for msfs 2024? While I admire the technology and initiative behind live AI I also hope for what used to be fossible in fs2004 and fsx. To have offline ai traffic based from flight plans. To be able to modify them and enjoy the sim as a sandbox and let one’s imagination fly.
@Jummivana It would be nice to hear from the team what the intentions are for offline ai functionality. They seem only focused on live traffic, which is great too, but it ignores a biiig community of fs2004/fsx ai traffic enthusiasts.
Yep! Something needs to be done about the ai traffic. I am fed up with being given clearance to land, and then when my wheels are about to touch the tarmac I am told to go around because an ai A320 has suddenly appeared on my six. Then when I go around the a320 suddenly disappears after landing.
Also no matter what runway I select at my destination I often get an ai A320 hurtling towards me as I’m landing, and this happens if I use the runway that is in the world map, or if I ask permission to land and let ATC tell me which runway to land on.
And there’s the thing when on approach, after being given clearance to land, and on final, the ATC gives an ai aircraft clearance to land, and it flies right through me causing me to almost losing control of my plane.
It’s all very annoying!
My biggest gripe is if a airport has a VRB wind direction, every single runway end is used for take off and landings at the exact same time, the Sim can’t stick to one departure flow, it just assigns aircraft to take off and land from all directions, often aircraft landing into each other on the runway from opposite ends…
I agree, I dont want live traffic, I just want to be able to fly around with some realistic looking flights offline at any time of the day.
Currently, at a busy airport like JFK with FSTL Traffic running 50 AI flights they jam the radio for (as of now) over 30 mins.
You have to sit there spamming the ATC button (1) to try and get your Request for clearance in between theirs.
Then if you are lucky enough to get that in you have to sit there spamming the Request Pushback ATC call on the lucky chance there is a break in ATC requests.
In FSX you didnt have to wait you could at least press the button and “lodge” your request in the queue.
But as FS2020 has not been built for airline simmers, its been built for GA nobody ever bothered to test ATC with more than 5 AI planes trying to leave an airport on IFR flights.
I am not hopeful for 2024 because I just dont think Seb and the guys get it, still, they talk a good game in fairness about the pilot career… but if they werent willing to fix any of these game breaking issues for 4 years I cannot see them getting it right for the next sim with all the other stuff they are doing. It will be some new liveries and some kind of basic career stats, essentially improving the logbook marginally.
In the time I have written this entire post I am still waiting for AI planes to get off the radio, so I can just REQUEST TO STOP PUSHBACK! I cant even stop pushing back until everyone else requests clearance, taxis to the runway.
Its bizarre how nobody at Asobo tried loading up a flight from a busy airport with lots of AI planes and… tried to fly somewhere!
Exactly my point, well said. I don’t know about getting it, but definitely not showing interest. I still have my fingers crossed since they have mentioned they have spoken to @Kaiii3 from AIG, but that was ages ago and nothing else has been mentioned.
