For Hadrian’s Wall 180 we have a single update in the works to make a virtue of having to rebuild it thanks to SU16. That will include shipping and vehicles.
And as well as setting up the UK’s remaining 4500 Iron Age Hillforts (!), Vol 1 also means that we can add in Romano-British farmsteads along Hadrian’s Wall.
The Castles of North Wales are on hold at the moment but look out for another castle collaboration to be announced soon…
And back on topic, the RAF’s standardisation of building designs means that we can use the models for multiple sites, including USAAF ones that were taken over, to which we can add bespoke buildings.
Ooh! That was my first guess, too, but I considered that perhaps Mr. Pips included the clipped word “LTAR” to throw us off. There’s very few words in the English language that end with that combination of letters, though.
I have only just spotted this topic and am absolutely delighted top see Kenley being reintroduced to the map. It was the stamping ground of an unheralded BoB hero, Wg Cdr Brendan ‘Paddy’ Finucane. To this day the youngest Wg Cdr in the Royal Air Force, promoted at the age of 21, to become the leader of the Kenley Wing. I am attempting to get the livery specialists to reproduce the livery of his ‘Flying Shamrock’ Mk V Spitfire which would look right at home in this add on. He did fly a Mk IX but not in anger.
That’s the only word I could think of, which only leads to more confusion, as I can’t recall a single UK airbase equipped with its own altar! My guess is it’s somewhere in the Home Counties, probably Kent based on previous TMD posts.
@albatross75160 I’d not heard W/C Finucance’s story until now. Thanks for the extra information and pointer!
Couple of thoughts:
“LTAR” could be part of an acronym, rather than a word or name?
The “8” could be a “B” for building - so not 183, 184, etc. but |B3, |B4, etc.
