I’m sure the FBI, CIA, NSA and the Pentagon would be very interested in IndiaFoxtEcho if the F-35 was very close the real plane. Obviously the most important parts are confidential so they can’t be recreated in any simulator. The modeling and most of the screens are as close to the real thing as possible, judging by real-life demonstrations and videos (and I’m sure IFE had access to real pilot inputs as well). Some other aspects like map and infrared views are also within MSFS limitations, probably for the same reason.
Personally, as long as the performance and the flight characteristics are realistic (and we don’t have reason to assume they aren’t), I’m very satisfied with the aircraft.
@Batterby76 How boring these discussions are, over and over again… which contribute nothing at all.
You only have to take a look at the manual (something that most people don’t do) and read the “Introduction” section of the product to know the degree of fidelity of the product in the simulator, regarding which, the developer himself writes:
The scope of this package is to provide, within the limits of Microsoft Flight Simulator, a medium fidelity simulation of all the F-35 variants. Most systems and procedures have been implemented in an “as realistic as practical” fashion, on the basis of the publicly available information, while other systems are vastly simplified or not implemented at all, due to software limitations or missing information.
IMPORTANT! THIS PRODUCT IS NOT ENDORSED OR SUPPORTED BY THE REAL WORLD AIRCRAFT MANUFACTURER.
While we have tried to provide a reasonably realistic depiction of the F-35 and we have carefully studied all the publicly available information, the performance, operations and procedures shall be considered purely fictional and not representative of the performance of the real aircraft and its systems.
I think this closes any type of controversy about it.
From there, anyone can judge from all the information published on the internet about the product, forums, videos, etc. if the product meets expectations and if it is worth buying.
Note: I have nothing to do with the developer of the product or with IFE. I am just a user who enjoys being able to fly this aircraft in Microsoft Flight Simulator and who gives his opinion on it.
Yes I read that too, which makes my statemant correct.
I never said it wanst fun for those that wish to fly it, i just replied to the above comment about it being realistic.
In my view the F-35 is miles ahead many other jet fighters in MSFS, I agree with you all Dc Designs / SC / CJ planes fly more or less in the same way and are very unrealistic but the F35 is different.
For once the avionics are completely custom and with the little information that is available seem to mimic the real plane quite close, there is no other plane with this custom array of screens and functions.
And IFE recently added a new update and the Echo19 sounds are terrific so I would say this jet is really ahead from the lot. The exception would be the F14 that is fantastic of course.
Pardon me for asking this, but how would you determine whether the flight model is realistic or not? Maybe an adaptation of the F-18 flight model is the most efficient way to solve the problem.
I know from past posts that you’re a supporter of DC Designs/SC Designs and that’s fine - they make good products and I’ve enjoyed them. But they also make compromises - the updated F-16 uses a pop-up panel for DED input, which some users won’t mind and others might think is an immersion breaker.
I’m sure they have good reasons for their design decisions and IFE probably does, too.

Members here are generally allowed to post both their findings and their personal opinions. Which as a member I am also allowed to do.
Yes im a Supporter of DC/SC Designs, how does that even matter? Im also a supporter and product tester for Miltech Simulations but i don’t see you bringing that into question.
Dean C has become a good friend and regular wingman of mine, Dino C is a GOOD FRIEND of his, there is no animosity there at all.
At no point have I ever said F35 isnt a good product that people can enjoy should they wish, yet everytime I comment that certain “facts” are indeed false (Dreampage’s comment that flight characteristics are realistic and there is no reason to think they are not)
I get slammed for pointing out these falsehoods, even when the developer themselves have stated the flight model is a work of fiction.
But none of that matters if the customer enjoys the product which many clearly do
Glad to hear all that. There’s an incipient theme on the DC Designs Discord where others (not you) are upset that IFE is developing too many planes that DC or SC have already done, so that was a point of concern. Hope that gets nipped in the bud. As stated, I’m happy to fly and enjoy both developers’ work (and Miltech’s, too). Think we’re on the same page.
Nice to have a range of choices - and enough information so we can choose in an informed way.
Unfortunately your right we try to reign in those views as people are entitled to buy/ fly what ever they like.
Its also the same in rhe IFE discord where the reverse is often found
Does someone know if there is an issue with using “full screen” for the pcd. I’ve followed the manual but whenever i press the button the view stays on only one panel
Button 5 in the manual:
The patch notes for the latest update have these details:
NWS LO caption changed to NWS
NWS will automatically engage upon landing is below 145 knots
NWS will automatically disengage if speed is above 150 knots
Previously there was NWS LO and NWS HI steps which you could manually change or just set to automatic, and the plane switched between the two at a certain speed, definitely lower than 150 kts. But I never paid much attention to it as I set it to automatic and forgot about it completely. After the update all I know is that it just works. On the ground there’s NWS and it possibly disengages during takeoff. I’ll have to check more closely.
