I tried that but no joy. Changing from TAA to DLAA has fixed it.
So, I really love this module! I have always had issues with the sounds, but I seem to have solved my issue which Iāll share hoping to help others. I have Dolby Atmos on my PC, and (silly me) I didnāt notice the Dolby Access application that gets installed with it. Thereās a ticky box called āPerformance Modeā in there (Turbo Mode was taken, I guess), and that did the trick. Itās really nice to fly now.
I just picked this one up in the sale at a really nice discount. Seems to be v1.0.3 installing but v1.0.4 is out now? Maybe it will be available soon on the marketplace. One flight this morning in it at it seems like a lot of fun, first impressions is that it feels like a digital cockpit & turbo prop version of the T1 Hawk. Interesting that it has a FMC. Will need to go study a video now.
If only Iris hadnāt used the default 747 FMC, which is of course completely unrealistic to feature in the PC-21. That and the jet flight model makes this a rather uninspiring release, not my cup of tea. Iād love to have a good PC-21, but not with shortcuts taken as Iris did.
The fmc definitely seems a little underwhelming and thereās a lot you canāt seem to do like editing a route say. I also chuckled at the sight of derated engine takeoff page.
But the aircraft is fun to fly. At £10 gbp it was also a good sale price to give it a go. Had a fun flight for an hr in it this morning.
I asked them if they would upgrade to the newer WT default fmc at least but they didnt really respond to it on their discord.
I think the real life aircraft has a cma-9000 and what I heard that should be actually not to far off frm the 747 fmc logic whise (except the additional military functionality) but having the old default and not the working title fmc is quite a nogo for me. If they add the new fmc in an update I would definitely buy it.
Yeah, it uses the CMA-9000 FMS
It works for my needs.
The PC 21 by Iris shows in the library page of Market place. I tried several times to enable the plane. After a reboot it should appear but it doesnāt show up in the game. I repeated this action at least 10 times. no result. Anyone an idea? I am talking about msfs 2024. In 2020 everything runs fine
Not using marketplace but mineās working here. Maybe somethingās wrong with the marketplace?
In msfs2020 The Pc21 flies well. May be waiting until marketplace is open againā
Thanks for your answer
Yeah, that must be the issue.
Iris released a fairly substantial update to this yesterday which added a few new features, refined the flight model, avionics and sound. Apparently addressed some MSFS 2024 compatibility issues too.
I had a quick flight in it last night and it seems to be a really good update.
Where can we find this update? I have checked Orbx and on their website.
If you have purchased on their website, you can re-download it to get the latest version. Not sure about other vendors, but the above worked for me.
Thank you - I bought it via Orbx.
It really would be nice if they say send an Email out to customers to let them know when an update is released.
Unfortunately, Orbx does not consider the PC-21 a 2024-compatible aircraft, which means you canāt install it at all unless you have a current MS2020 installation present - which I donāt. I wish Orbx would change their software to allow unrestricted downloads of purchased productsā¦
After flying the new Version for a view hours today, I must say, it feels much improved over the old version. I really like it. The only thing I have doubts is the yaw behaviour in flight. This seems strange to me: Its very direct and without any weight or momentum, and snaps back immediately to a strange angle on the planes forward axis. Hard to describe actually. Just feels strange compared to other planes I fly. Iām using rudder pedals and hotas. Iām on 2024 in SU2 beta and using a Pimax headset. BTW, its a fantastic plane for VR. Thanks for your hard work.
Thanks for the Update Info! Yes, IRIS likes to āshadow dropā these thingsā¦
I wish they would actually consider updating the Tutor to a usable form in '24ā¦ānot decided yetā is the core statement a few days ago.
The tradeoff is that you no longer have to turn on AUTORUDDER in order to stop the tail wagging like an over-eager puppy.
From the 1.3.0 manual (which still comes with 1.5.0):
The problem with that, of course, is that itās easy enough to turn autorudder on; the trick is remembering to turn it off afterwards. Ask me how I know.
So I was pleased to see this evening that I could fly 1.5.0 without autorudder and without tailwagging, both in mild live weather and a custom 40+ kt wind.
There was a good deal of buffeting in the high wind but not specifically tailwagging.
Thatās good.
Not so good is the fact that I found the GTN 750 installation on the left MFD to be problematic. Details have been submitted to the IRIS Simulations Discord.
And I havenāt quite got the hang yet of the new options on the right-hand MFD. But thatāll come, though if anyone knows how to turn off the instructorās voice if you inadvertantly turn it onā¦
Still, I feel 1.5.0 is a significant advance over previous versions. Having to turn on AUTORUDDER always felt kludgy.
