IRIS Simulations Pilatus PC-21 Release Build

So I just installed the 1.3.0 update and did a quick test flight. The HUD indeed works great now. The option to switch to the F/A-18 HUD was dropped, as it is really not needed anymore. The moving map on the left MFD is very welcome as well.

All in all a really nice update, quite unexpected to be honest. I had not flown the PC-21 in ages, but with the new update I can see myself flying and enjoying it again.

Seems you got radalt with this new hud

I love this plane, only complaint is that the air brake could be a little better.

Indeed, and don’t think I’m not pleased and grateful. I was out hooning round the Highlands of Scotland this morning in the PC-21, squeezing the maximum amount of usefulness out of the radalt and the new map.

I shall shed a small tear for the passing of the old HUD. I used it in preference to the F-18 HUD because while it lacked both a radalt and the ability to stay within its frame, it did have the best way of indicating an approaching waypoint in a HUD that I think I’ve seen.

I shall miss that. But not as much as I shall enjoy the radalt and the built-in map.

So thanks, IRIS! Your effort is much appreciated!

New update out. And it looks like F18 HUD option is now removed?

Crucially, FMS still broken. Can’t remove legs in FPL which is a fundamental function. Map still not implemented… What a pity, this kite has huge potentials

Are there new liveries included?

I don’t think so

The map is implemented, I used it last night immediately after downloading the update - make sure you’ve enabled it by pushing the map button on the left MFD.

F18 HUD had been removed and been replaced with a much nicer one, includes a RALT readout too which is handy.

My bad. I didn’t see the legs represented. I will try the map function again.

The poorly functional FMS is a big deal for me though. Unless you create a flight plan and stick to it no matter what it’s barely usable. Ans since deleting waypoints is impossible you better get it right first time. No typos LOL

I think they are using the old 747 fms, because these behaviours sound typical for it, if thats the case it would be great if they could switch to the new one from the working title avionics update

Thanks for the information, it s being downloading, it s the Turbo that uses French Army for their future Mirage pilots ! hope Iris/Microsoft/FSX/Asobo will continue updating this Baby

You can delete the waypoints.
Click the waypoint after the one you want to delete, then click the one you want to delete and then click EXEC.

Hello, I have an issue with the aileron trim, however I’m not sure if it is a user error or an issue with the real aircraft. What happens is I have the aileron trim set to the center, as verified by the gauge in the cockpit, however any time I turn the aircraft in a specific direction the airplane will want to keep turning in that direction. For example, say I am flying straight and decide to turn the plane to the left. Once I am done with the turn, I can level the wings, however they don’t want to stay level and will naturally keep trying to roll the plane to the left if I let go of the joystick. The only way for me to keep them level after turning is to adjust the aileron trim in the opposite direction, which then means the trim is no longer set to the middle. Am I doing something wrong, or do you have to constantly adjust the aileron trim every time you make a turn when hand flying the plane?

Thanks

I have flown this aircraft extensively and have never experienced this. Here is a link to a flight that I did recently https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/EBQC2OyHejU

Yep, never had this and I fly it almost everyday.

autopilot ?

My mfd displays are laggy (as best as I can describe it). Text and numbers are slow to update. Like a really low refresh rate. You can sort of see them animating and changing. No issue in other planes. Any ideas what I should check and change?

Working ok here, as of yesterday. I use high cockpit refresh rate..
