Thanks everyone.
Looks like it’s going to be another 12 months until FS24 is a ‘plug and play’ application.
I’ve been doing views of the YT channels and it is a situation where each individual PC system, in 3 screen of VR has to be TUNED for best performance.
This is NOT a ‘plug and play’ game. Until the application can assess the system it is to be used on, and adjust the Video settings for best performance, it remains a ‘computer geek’s game’.
Proud to be a ‘Computer Geek’

It doesn’t happen often that I use stock airports, but when I do, I’d appreciate more lights at the apron. See KMIA at early morning. Has this improved in 2024?
Thanks!

For me no !! 2020 had everything !! If you want just graphic update for MFS buy 2024 !!! But you need powerful pc and net !
@SenseOfHomer
Unfortunately, stock airport buildings and aprons have seen no improvement in 2024. Aprons are pitch black at night, terminal buildings are mostly unrealistic blocks with rectangular white areas to represent windows at night, and hangars are still way too tall.

Maybe that will be fixed once that World Airport Database catches up.
I have only looked at my Payware Airports and they all look much better in 2024 to me (especially lights).
However, there are other reasons why I need to stay with SU16. But sooner or later all my addons will be ported so I will join permanently.
I don’t find the perfomance worse. You just have to adjust the settings, every new release raises the roof so “Medium” might be different in 2024 to 2020.
Very sadly, that’s how it is. That’s one of the places where XPlane is miles better. I really hoped FS2024 would fix this (which has been a very long time complain in 2020) since those pitch dark aprons are anything but reasonable. In contrast, XPlane stock airports at night are amazing.
Viceversa happens with night ambient lighting, horizon lighting and landscapes, where FS is clearly better

I got around the ‘darkness at night’ problem by flying GA between 09:00 and 17:30 at my local Airfield. Their ‘Tower open times’.
This summer has been ‘riding a bike every day’ so no FS20 for several months.
DON’T buy FS2024, this is merely a early beta!
even with SU3/4beta. If the following is your cup of tea, go knock yourself out.
SU3 major issues
Aircraft issues noted around SU3
LOD issues
SU4 beta major issues

For me definetely a yes . Love msfs24
You should have a quiet good System though
I would say it’s worth the free edition with game pass, I wouldn’t spend my money again on the paid versions as the majority of the extra aircraft from the other editions are broken/unusable, I now fly mostly 3rd party aircraft as these do get updated and bugs get fixed, such a disappointment that the aircraft bugs don’t get fixed, I understand they have a lot on their hands fixing the base sim but common there’s so many bugs with aircraft that can be easily fixed, I mean quite a few worked better in SU1 but broken now in live SU3 build.
