I opened ports…not working for me…also checked Xbox live…teredo connection etc..
I’m also hitting this. Nothing listed here or any other thread I’ve tried has worked. Same symptom of no online, live weather, live ATC, infinite spinner next to the “AUTOMATIC […]” dropdown under “SERVERS”. Opened case #43475. I’ve never used any software so buggy at launch with so much core functionality not working.

Something that I didn’t see mentioned here is privacy settings. If your xbox account is set to block your online status you may show up as disconnected in game even though in the xbox companion app you show as online. This change along with making sure that the xbox networking services where running allowed me to group and fly with some friends. I’ve still had intermittent issues though with the multiplayer so there could definitely be some other bugs that need to be worked out.
You can change it by following these instructions: Xbox Support
On the Privacy tab, make sure that you have set “Other can see if you’re online” to either everyone or friends.

Possibly, I haven’t heard that elsewhere but the two fixes I posted are common requirements.
i see a ton of players on the world map @ KATL, but not in the sim itself.
This is an issue.
My friend and I used it yesterday and it worked. Today it does not.
Same server (West EU), same settings and multiplayer on in “Data”. Triple checked.
Live traffic and multiplayer not working for me at all. Unable to see any aircraft on the world map. I had to reset my profil and o oh then did they pop up, but then they vanished after exiting and coming back into the sim. I think it may be a problem with the cloud saves or the Xbox login…who knows anymore.
uno guys im starting to c an issue with this online thing. its not only effecting who i see in the sim but tearing up my photogrammetry as well. im on the east usa but to c my friends i have to use the west usa server. i started jumping around on all the servers last night and was actually getting better graphics with more users on the eu servers from time to time. after a while the users would dye down and i started cn the bombed out buildings with the low bandwidth warning. i switched servers and it all comes back for a while. of course my friends on the west coast couldnt follow me so we lost contact.
im worried if they dont build up a robust online server presence we will be manually downloading our scenery cache for offline flight and using a 3rd party connection like joinfs to fly with friends.
To the people on this thread experiencing no online features, are you all using the Windows Store version?
I worked with support and the Steam version worked for me first time, but the MS Store version is (still) broken.
Got issues with this . Cant se my friends online . Or connect witht them on the same server .

So, suddenly it works fine… thus without any port forwarding. So i still believe this is server related.
Same issues happens sometimes to me and my friend. Sometimes all ist fine. I think that’s MS server side problem. Maybe too much traffic that causes desync.
i have the problem on steam, how did you fix it on steam then?
I didn’t have to fix it on steam, when I installed the steam version yesterday it just worked. When I went back to the store version it was still broken.
This is the first I’m seeing of people saying it’s broken in steam too 
so maybe it’s not a windows store only issue at all.
I just had a new response to my zendesk bug report basically saying it doesn’t impact enough people for them to investigate, and they gave me the default troubleshooting steps, all of which I’ve already tried and didn’t help.
I’m at a loss for what to do, and sounds like the devs aren’t working on a fix or interested in trying to debug to root cause the issue among the other priorities they have.
I have the same issue. when my friend and I connect in a group flight, he can see me but I cant see him. We have both gone through all the settings with no joy. I can connect to general multiplayer and see other players just fine.

Us over here at TFB have doing group flights mostly aok…and after reading this entire thread I still dunno what settings for MP you guys are actually using!?
…probably glitches in new software is all folks it is early afterall
ARE YOU GUYS USING MP..or GROUP settings? If group you HAVE to ensure all flyers are LISTED IN SIM PROFILE AND ALSO ONLINE, THEN YOU SEND INVITE TO GROUP, it will then light the group icon and show who’s in the group… then you click fly
IN THAT ORDER ONLY
if you click it first it wont work…if you dont invite each and have them accept it wont work,you wont see them…it aint ports…firewall ..xbox settings I dont think
Maybe this helps, to try again…in our early testing last week…we got 4 in MP and 3 in MP mode, but its been done with more as seen on the forum…and we hope to be at TEN fliers at once very soon…

Event 2 was a GLITCHFEST
1-in startup OF GROUP MODE my plane wouldn’t move and not a soul in sight nearby… 
2-theres SIX guys of the group showing online at 8,and half of them are at 3500/1200/2960 ft…i dont get it when we ask we meet on a runway…lol
3-numerous times we sent out invites to live members, with no response…?
4–one guy could see me, but as group leader i could see nobody and tried and reset in both tonight GROUP and LIVE PLAYERS MODES
A huge thanks to piper9t3 for the help and assistance with some reporting tonight, the only 0f 6 online showing only partially, making it impossible to continue the event, cancelled at 8:35 pm
ITS OUR FEAR NOW GUYS: This software is new as we know and love it…but in a state that is NOT as advertised yet in MP settings,nor does it DO what the MULTIPLAYER video shows it doing…not as of yet anyways
We just may have to give it say 3 to 6 months…and try all this again…sorry

Is there somewhere we can all go and error report this directly to the developer to fix?
I think if enough people do that, Then we can show it doesn’t do what it shows it can do, then they should and would, fix it best they can soon we hope!
As it may now appear, flying in ANY group setting as it stands, just ain’t happening to the extent that its reported to be able to do in FS2020.
Its new we can wait, but lets get it working right, cause its a huge draw for many I think…
