Thanks. I know now why the engines didn’t started. I think, it’s even not in the checklist. But not sure about it.
That’s kind of weird not having a mixture leaver and only “virtually” change the mixture.

Yeah the mixture thing is weird. The single engined model has a mixture lever, it also has some switches for the battery, primer, and an engine master control (which actually aren’t needed it seems, but at least they are there) but the 3 engined version seems to lack all of that for some reason. Did the real 3 engined variant of this plane have no mixture control? If it didn’t then you shouldn’t need to actually push your physical mixture controls forward to start the plane nor should the mixture have any effect. It’s all a bit odd.
Do 3 engine and retrofit version have taxi/landing lights and cockpit lights?
I am not able to switch on lights even by pressing L key.
Here are the pros, as far as I can tell.
Fantastic modeling of the plane. Never seen one in real life, but if this is as close to real as it will get, I’m pretty impressed. I took off from one of the long runways at LAX, and it climbed no problem. I trimmed the aircraft to fly pretty stably shortly after getting into the air. I didn’t try a landing, but that will happen soon enough. I tried starting from a parking spot to see how the start-up went. I realized that you have to move each switch. Otherwise, you’ll never get the engines started. That’s okay, though. I like learning how to start a plane like this up, so it’s a pro for me.
The cons.
The only issue I found, so far, is the tail wheel not turning on the retro aircraft. That was a bit of a letdown, especially after going through the checklist to get the engines started, only to realize the plane won’t turn. So I checked all over the flight deck to see if I missed a switch or something (like the one in the G-44A) that would unlock the tail wheel and didn’t find one.
Overall I’m pretty happy with the purchase. I’m looking forward to seeing an update for this aircraft as soon as it can get done.
Be careful with expectations regarding updates. See JU-52. It didn’t get any fix since release!
I’m only seeing 1 livery for the single engined variant, a KLM livery. Guess they forgot to include the other 3.
Same for the prop lever (does it even have that?), horizontal stabilizer trim and the rudder trim. I can use them on my hardware without any of them to be found in the cockpit… Also, turn one fuel lever and nine of them move in 9 directions.
Is normal that it’s not possible turn aircraft on runway with rudder? It hardly turns with rudder.
Charles Lindbergh flew across the Atlantic without any autopilot AND without any forward view except a tiny periscope.
The „Spirit of St Louis“ was a default airplane in FS2004. And it was used a lot. People went for the challenge. So what do you do?
Yeah I just noticed the prop lever as well. I loaded up the 1 engine variant after I had my quick successful flight in the 3 engined plane and I was having the same problem I had earlier where the RPM was maxed out even if I pull the throttle back and the plane refusing to move. I then moved the axis I have assigned to prop back and the plane suddenly lurched forward and the RPMs came down. It’s all very odd. It might also be why I failed to actually take off properly in my first flight with the 1 engine variant as well as the RPMs did seem quite low.
Well it doesn’t have a tail wheel but a skid. You can use differential braking to turn with the three engined variant pretty easily but with the single engine it’s incredibly slow to turn.
edit: slowly getting airborne with the 1 engine variant!
Can’t turn this lever on
ALT + L for cockpit flashlight
Snap!
This is the retrofit version, and got it started from cold and dark pretty easily. Noticed that the trim wheel animation seems to go the wrong way - it looks like down is up and vice versa, but it’s actually not!
Anyone noticing that if you attempt to set/reset pilot landing view the game black screen CTD’s back to Xbox Home Screen? Reproduced this about 4x in both single and multi engine variant…. Looks lovely though!
Thanks everyone for posting their day 1 review of the Fokker F.VII single and three engine variants. Very informative! Thank you!
For reference, @Jummivana posted the Fokker F.VII’s known bugs in this post, and said they are working towards a fix for them in a future update. So there’s that at least
Lets hope they read the other “issues” you all have ID’ed and update/incorporate those in future updates.
With the three engine retrofit version, there is a tail wheel which you can turn with the rudder when the yoke is pushed fully forwards - not sure if that’s how it is supposed to work
Heh poking around the cabin with the drone view and they modelled the toilet!
Looks quite nice back here as well
Despite the weird issues that you seem to get if you have physical mixture and prop axis’ assigned (which I hope will be fixed but not holding my breath) this plane ain’t too shabby. The 3d model looks really good and I like how she flies.
Oh another thing for me to bellyache about is how the rear panel on the single engined plane is exactly the same as the three engined variant, so you get the three different engine starter switches lol. Doesn’t really bother me that much, seems that the single engined variant was a bit of an afterthought really but I appreciate having it.
