MSFS2024 request: Please put this dialog somewhere outside the sightline for runway visual acquisition. It kinda gets in the way. Please.
Ive been dealing with this for months now. Evrything starts out fine but as the flight progreses the scenery doesnt load in and I get these blurry shapes that are supposed to be buildings. I reinstalled windows and MSFS, installed all the MBās drivers and same thing happens. I have 1GB ethernet as well. FOr excample I downoaded Cyberpunk in 987mbs, took around 5 mins, and yet MSFS takes 1 minute for just some sceney to load in. Especially in Vancouver areaā¦
FYI:
Feature request: limit the outages to Teams instead so I can play with my airplane while my meeting doesnāt work.

[Edit: Started MSFS. Getting Disconnect / Connect messages about every 1-2 minutes. Loading flight bandwidth usage:
Departing Departing Graz (LOWG) , following A2 to Gleisdorf:
so far, other than a stutter when sim reconnects, flight is pretty good.

Now at Riegersburg Castle - multplayers still appear when offine:

Now at Forchtenstein Castle. The disconnects always last exactly 21 seconds, suggesting to me that a network switch (or similar) is in a constant reboot loopā¦

And the end of flight at Wiener Neustadt Ost (LOAN):
Total flight time was 54 minutes. During this time, apart from the sim reconnect stutter, the flight was not impacted. There was no apparent loss of photogrammetry, multiplayer or other online services. Data was continually streaming to the PC, even when the sim reported the connection was lost. Framerates were consistently around +/- 40. Note: The manual cache does not store any data for the area covered by this flight.

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OPās steps to reproduce it?
Yes, everyday. Reproduction: Starting a flight over a photogrammetry city or downloading a manual cache around a photogrammetry city. Even content manager downloads use only a maximum of 10% out of my internet connection. In the same time the internet speed for a browser beeing for testing purposes used in the same time is blocked allmost to no download speed at all. Windows 11, PC. The task manager shows, that no other applications are using the internet connection.
Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
low bandwidth error occurs on every flight when using bing photogrammetry e.g. flying over Microsoft Photogrammetry cities or downloading for a manual cache

Scenery then looks like in the screenshot in this post above: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/low-bandwidth-message-connection-lost-switched-offline/464121/1413?u=marblefeline359
Iāve been having this issue for months! And Iām running out of patience and things to try.
Iāve triedā¦
- Switching ISP
- Upgraded my bandwidth from 250mbps to 500mbps
- Re-installed the drivers for my my integrated wifi receiver for my PC.
- Disabled the wifi receiver and purchased a USB wifi dongle.
- Tried a fresh install of FS
- Did a clean install of Windows.
- DNS flushes / ipconfig renews / every other type of reset of internet settings.
Despite all of that, till the problem persists. And I canāt pin point the trigger.
Iām not using the any addons that alter bing maps in anyway (and never have). Yet constantly every 30-60 mins Iām switched to āofflineā mode, and Bing Maps deactivates, and it takes between 5-20 minutes to switch bing maps back on.
My average download speed is 496mbps. No other device in the house connect to my router is having issues.
Iāve been losing my mind over this. I canāt figure out what triggers it. Some days its fine, not a blip, then other days itās constant.
I wouldnāt waste any more time on looking. Itās nothing at your end, Iām sure. Weāll see if MS has improved things with 2024.
Thanks pal, inclined to agree. I think itās a MS server issue, thereās literally nothing else more I can try (or spend money on!) to try and figure this out. Iām flying currently and itās done it again, weirdly though, live weather still seems to be feeding into the sim?
I have full fibre internet here in UK and also am fortunate enough to have recently purchased a high end PC.Still get intermittent bandwidth warnings.
Thereās going to have to be a significant step up in MS hardware and software delivery performance for 2024, that is for sure.
Just curious where in the UK? Iām in Manchester, Iām trying to figure if this is a local issue?
Happens in the USA also.
Preston Lancs
Same here in Germany.
So for anyone like me having CONSTANT drops in connectivity for days on end to the FS servers, this is a potential work around⦠I think I may have found a fix.
- Go to: General Options, Data, and turn āOnline Functionalityā to OFF.
- Close the Sim.
- Restart your PC.
- Launch the sim.
- Once loaded go to: General Options, Data, and turn āOnline Functionalityā back to ON.
I tried this whilst during a flight but it didnāt work, but exiting the flight and doing it from the main menu seemed to clear this fault for me. I hope this helps someone else whoās having this infuriating fault! Iāve wasted a lot of money thinking it was my ISP or my PC when both had nothing wrong with them!
Best,
USS Scirocco
Edit, scrap that, after a couple of hours the fault come back. ARGHHH!!!
Look at the date this topic started⦠It has been that long since this has been going on and everybody tried to solve the issue except MS. Iām really worrying about 2024 because of an even higher server dependency.
But for now I use flow and change servers when I get the LB message. Sometimes it helps, most of the times it doesnāt.
