What navigation aspects were you hoping to replicate that you do not believe are possible in MSFS? I ask because at this moment there are the following freeware capabilities outside of what’s already given in the sim at least for MSFS2020:

I am losing my mind waiting for this. Back in FSX the A2A B17was my favorite aircraft. Really hoping it’s not just a simple copy like Aeroplane Heaven keeps churning out without any realism, maintenance, neglect and abuse failures. Half the fun is needing to fly properly trying not to break things. Sometimes trying to break things.
Can’t wait for this. I loved playing B17 the flying fortress on PC back in the day. I just hope they don’t rush it and everything works there’s so much to do in a B17.
Well, if the Microprose one is a bit more simple, you always have the MilViz (blackbird) one to wait for. They announced it at around the same time, and the quality of their aircraft is amazing.
Do you mean Flying Iron? They teased theirs dating back to the end of 2022. I’m not holding my breath there, as they have a full plate with reworking their current lineup for FS24. I’m not aware of MilViz/Blackbird working on one?

It was originally teased at the end of 2022. Confirmation was October '23.
I’m 99% sure the FlyingIron version will be much better, unsure about which one will see the light first.
It’s tiny evidence but the few things I’ve seen from this Microprose B17 suggests an arcade-style version of the plane which is of course perfectly right for a lot of people.

Speaking to you from the future. September 2025, to be precise. Don’t get too excited. It still hasn’t been released. But they are ‘proud’ to be developing it.
Well now they’ve put it on hold until after this one releases. At that point they’ll decide if there’s room for another one. This one better be REALLY good!
Yea I’m upset about it but comes down to flight model for flyingiron making the call there is space for an easier vs more realistic one

For those following this project, Microprose is still waiting for vendor approval on the Marketplace. They can’t test for XBox, let alone release for it, until that happens. A wish list item has been started just trying to bring attention to the matter here:
What?! The glacial response time of the Marketplace is throwing a wrench in the works? Unheard of! 
I take it this means it’ll release on the marketplace only? Disappointing if true.
No atm they are looking at outside vendors Xbox users can only get access via marketplace
So PC you will have an option as soon as it’s ready
While I can see the point, I am not sure a positive discrimination is a good way to go.
Think of all the other developers with perhaps less famous names but with good quality addons ready or in a pipeline.
Make a post in the wishlist then, make it known you want them in the Sim via the marketplace, I’m the one that put the wishlist item up for this to get attention to help bring the B-17 to Xbox as I want it for Xbox
