Why the heck you inform people as it’s has been fixed ! It’s not, not even close.
I highly doubt about this cloud streaming thing. It couldn’t even have a start !

when i FINALLY got into the ■■■■ thing. after 9 HOURS
yeah what a let down.
game runs sluggish for me
weird shadow issues on trees when you move the view around
NO AI PILOTING
WHY IN THE HELL DID YOU REMOVE THAT???
it was one of the BEST features i loved about 2020 and i was hyped for the new route planner to maybe load it into the game and have the ai pilot the whole route
but NOPE
GONE is that feature…i suppose you can set it up in the autopillot but its not the same
and LOTs more pop in then in 2020
loading times to load in areas are bad
to be honest dont notice THAT much of a HUGE improvement on the ground
though vehicals and such seem to be better
but yeah
overall i am NOT happy with 2024 and think for now just gonna go back to 2020
what a let down.
It is very hard to be even the slightest bit understanding when you pay $200 for a game that fails to launch. Hard drive is cheap. I have lots of space so FS could include some terrain and function no matter what. You should always have content and never have to rely on a cloud server to be able to play. I would rather have my money back and spend it somewhere else. I paid for a good time and did not get it. Epic fail. It can never happen again.
12 Hours in and still in the Login queue. Yeah, great job! Will Misobo finally admit they f-cked up with the entire streaming thing, that they should have full installer at least for the Standard edition content and the rest have streamed?
This is what I really expecded when i heared MSFS2024 will be cloud based
And yesterday I quit the installation at about 14% (activating packages) after I waited for 2hrs…thats just rediculus
Finally got in and took a quick flight in the Cessna 172 out of KBFI. Walkaround was cool (although I’ve never seen a static port cover on a 172) and I was gratified to see that those silly GA tugs are gone. The Seattle/Bellevue area looked great and the added details make VFR even more immersive. Performance was excellent on high settings. I also liked the universal flight tablet. I didn’t play around with it too much, but having the checklists there is another good addition for immersion.
My biggest gripe is with control mappings. First of all, there should be default control profiles applied automatically. I’m on my laptop with just a joystick at the moment and I wasn’t expecting to have to manually set up controls for each aircraft just to fly. This is a major miss and was a poor design choice. I’m also frustrated by the fact that so many of the default keybinds have been changed. As a result, too many things don’t work as expected, making the initial experience seem foreign. I would have much preferred a default profile that preserved the way things used to work.
After my flight, I decided to check out KSEA. Unfortunately, I ran into problems there. As you can see, the terminal and parking garage structures are missing.
I will also mention that while I really like the ability to do an aircraft walkaround, I don’t actually like being forced to do it. I’d like to be able to choose aircraft state from the world menu and one of those states should be “preflight complete”. This is especially true for airliners. At this point, I can’t even figure out how to get in the cockpit from the ground, which is frustrating. Perhaps it is as simple as changing the camera, but I’ve just realized that the sim is no longer responding to keyboard inputs, so I can’t try that.
All and all, I’d say the new sim holds a lot of promise. I’m looking forward to getting it running in 4K with head tracking on my main sim rig. I’m also planning on checking out career mode to see how that works. Lots to learn and do!
You can try to limit your fps to 60Hz using vsync in your display driver.
How do you change the menu music? FS20 had three options. Here I see none.
If you haven’t tried this already, reboot your computer before retrying to log into the sim. That worked for me with the same issue you’re having. Also, apparently, quitting the sim and trying to log in doesn’t always close the prior instance, so check Task Manager to ensure the sim is totally closed before retrying.
What did you use it for? And I’m sure it’s still in there
How do I exclude 2024 posts. The traffic is just too much and I am still in 2020.
I’m happy to report that I can now load in FS2024 without a queue loading screen!
What I don’t understand. They have all this data and thought testing with 200.000 connections was enough?
New sim. Same bad LOD/TLOD/OLOD if not worse than 2020.
Again moving close or away from objects watching them pop into detail and cull LODs. Please see images. As well please see my posts linked of known issues from SU15. This is unacceptable on Series X.
No landing gears, no cabin interiors, poor poly textures barely rendered.
Zoom in or move closer details pop into place. Incredibly ugly. Incredibly immersion breaking. This is not better than 2020, in fact it’s way worse.
Please see these posts and photo references of the exact same issue SU15 “memory optimations” left us with on Series X. Where is our ‘miracle’ GDK that was to fix this on launch of 2024!?
We’ve had no answers to these issues for 6months now. MS/Asobo has brushed us off and moved on. I don’t think I’ll ever get answers or a fix to this. MS/Asobo blamed Xbox teams for not having the GDK ready. It was supposed to launch today with this new sim. What is going on? Is this as good as it gets? Is this what you feel is acceptable to your Xbox Series X members? I’m so tired of the silence.
In the settings, making no changes I cannot go back discarding changes? I only can do “ESC - Save and Back” or “END - Reset to Defaults”.
I guess I’m in. Got past Q screen…….almost wish it didn’t.
Menus are a stutter fest. Trying to set a free flight up from local airport KMYR, cannot launch free flight, hangs.
Once again I’m reminded why it was wise to not drop serious $$$ on 2024. This sim has a LONG way to go SMH.
Some update 13h after launch. It’s 07am local time in Central Europe. Sim started without problems, menues etc are showing, even the selection of aircraft is available. Wanted to go to free flight starting in LSZH. Guys, if you don’t have a super-high-speed internet connection, the game is barely playable. Waiting for 30min to load. Seriously? (Unfortunately, my internet connection is still copperwire based with max 20Mb/s download…)
Steam version so yes there is a login needed to associate Xbox gaming account.
Good news is this morning the sim jumped straight into into the customise options.
Bad news however I’m stuck at the customise identity loading screen where it seems to be trying to stream. Been like this for 20 mins now
My network graph is barely showing in the Kbps range. CPU, memory and GPU all very low usage. Servers still overloaded?
Sorry Asobo but if this is what we can expect from the new cloud architecture I’m thinking it’s not worth it. I hope once I finally get into the sim, I’ll find the options for local download/caching.
