I guess you composed these clouds yourself in the weather setting ?

Have not been able to play either MSFS 2020 or MSFS 2024 since the update. Trying again today and right now in New York City 12/24/24 1:55 PM I can not get on MSFS 2020 or MSFS 2024. Just a black screen for over 3 hours. Anyone know what is going on? Anyone know what I should do? Happy Holidays.

If you’re able to get into the sim, maybe try an area of the world that isn’t likely to be as busy or as full of complicated scenery and maybe in a smaller/less complex aircraft.

I know it’s not how it should be, but at least that might get you in and perhaps give a clue as to what might be preventing you from getting off the ground in New York.

Since the Patch 4 update, my logbook stopped logging flights. My last logged flight shows as Dec 19. I’ve had at lease 10 more flights since then.

Has anyone else seen this?

The FS2020 logbook used to not log flights if you had developer mode enabled, so it might not be a bad idea to check that isn’t what is causing your issue.

no is live weather

I noticed the order of mine was reversed so older flights were shown first. You might click the date heading and see if that is the case for you, too (if you haven’t already tried it).

Still so many planes with generic liveries. Don’t remember seeing those in the trailers.

Yes, most like they lowered down the quality to facilitate streaming for users, resulting in a poor looking world. Sad, but true.

Again, this was marketing at it’s finest, or should I say most evil… The first airport I started in FS2024 was Auckland and thought, nice, Air New Zealand, this looks really good. Only to discover later they’re all over the place. Wizz Air or S7 in Australia… The traffic should have been somewhere close to what FSLTL is producing, not this - insert word here - .

Almost everything on this sim needs work…. Almost nothing is in a finished state.

Patch unsless

Since patch 4, I have been enabling and flight testing add-on airports in 24. What seems to work well on Series X (a strategy from the distant past in 2020) is to fly from a default or handcrafted airport to an add-on. That gives 24 time to stream and load the larger scenery and more importantly, isolates each add-on per flight test.

Have tested 7 so far and find that 24 does a much better job of transitioning from its scenery to the add-on airport. With one exception, the transitions are seamless and very smooth. The one airport I have reverted to a lesser creation is KEWR, where I have disabled Dz’s and reverted to Final Approach Sim, which looks quite nice in 24 and is very smooth to use (no interiors tho).

When I find one that works, I will flight test it on departure, for example Newark to say, Bermuda.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, and good flying here or in 2020 if you can. And if you are traveling for the holidays, safe travels and safe home. Cheers!
