They also need to send out a fix for the CTD when in VR mode. I have off loaded everything and tried each thing as I added it back in. Some times it takes 5 mins or 30 mins. It is so random and the event logs are all over the place. It isn’t just one file. But the file dates are all 4/26/25.
I will try that. It happens without touching anything. I was just looking around on several of them. None of the event logs add up. I tried to revert to a back up version of the update files in the one store folder. It automatically updates on restart of MSFS 2020. I have 100 hrs this month in VR mode. The issue started on the 4/23 and after. Microsoft updated Win 11 and .Net Framework, Asobo updated MSFS 2020 all within a day of each other. There is no one to even send the logs too.
The “hysteria” is likely because we see that FS2024 is getting all the Development attention. This is fine if FS2020 is left alone. But now updates are being pushed to FS2020, without any beta testing that we are aware of, and evidently without any proper QC as mentioned by @FringedChimp823, and new bugs are appearing.
Considering how long it takes bugs to get resolved in general, and even more so now for FS2020, I believe we have every reason to be concerned that the stability of FS2020 is being compromised. Without a sufficient outcry of alarm at what on its own may be a “minor” issue, what remaining reliability FS2020 still has over FS2024 could gradually get worse.
It’s interesting… while MSFS remains running after quitting/exiting the game, it’s not responding and using a lot of CPU! Fortunately it’s not asking to run in safe mode or normal mode upon launching the MSFS again.
