MSFS 2024 only positive comments!

Lets add to the list. Right out the box, game play (frame rates) are significantly improved (atleast in my PC Rig w/ a 4090, and i9 13900k. Better use of the cpu cores. TAA mode = no problem. I remember having to use 3rd party apps and really tweak the settings in the 2020 sim inorder to get descent frame rates

Okay, I am very frustrated because to the constant CTDs. But today I had a VR flight over Corsia and the experience was unreal. The scenery, the weather, the sunlight effects on the windscreen, it was absolutely amazing.

Can I just say BALLOONS! What a peaceful, relaxing way to explore the digital world. The sounds of the burners, the wind and birds in the trees.

Performance is fantastic for me! In 2020 certain places caused performance issues, even on a high-end computer, such trying to land at JFK, now its butter smooth!

No stutters, no performance issues or crashes, just very smooth and solid!

“Much, Much better this evening! Loving it, (apart from control Setup & loss of engine noise!)”

Something must have being changed. Since release I wasn’t able to fly at german time after 7 pm. Today it was first I even could fly missions at this time. I was on all day since release but everyday it was to long loading into anything. Today I opened a Task-Manager to see the downoad-rates. And see I have only a 100MBit Connection but even this is enough. There is 2-3 Mbit download during flight. If it helps someone here what I do. Go to Short hold, look at download at your connection in Task Manager. I only start if there is now download any more. Think that makes you have most of elements downloaded and you have less errors as starting while some things are not downloaded

Almost all of the Aviator Edition aircraft don’t show up, so I have fewer aircraft to choose from, simplifying getting into the air! :slight_smile:

In the final days before launch I filmed a video of a flight over Oslo for a friend in MSFS2020. Repeating the flight it seems better visually in MSFS2024. I’m a casual flyer using a Hotas X and Quest 2 and I’m having a blast.

What we are getting, even with the current bugs, is incredible value for £69.99 in my opinion.

The more I play, the more I love MSFS2024. I’m getting around 60fps to 90fps :slight_smile:

My home field is Wellesbourne Mountford EGBW.
Big thanks to Flying Theston.
I’ve put ATC on top of his scenery.

I took lessons at Coventry Baginton EGBE.
Big thanks to MorganThomas757 for the whole scenery and ATC.

When I fly into Cov’, Left downwind 23, I look out of the left window to see marks in the airfield grass, which is all that remains of my 11x Great Grandfather’s farm.
Tear in eye, which is not helpful in VR goggles.

My family have, from it’s early Norman origins, been farmers. Cheshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Buckinghamshire.

Please support British farmers.

I notice that too. Way better than 2020. It is some new technology, I guess.

Hello everyone,

I can finally enjoy MSFS 2024 without frustration and with great pleasure. The download time, image quality, and performance on high-end settings are excellent—even though my system is quite old, I’m getting a steady 30 FPS without any issues.

However, I do have some concerns about using the many addons I’ve accumulated from MSFS 2020. I had long-term problems with downloads in the previous simulator version, so for now, I’m only flying with the default aircraft and features of MSFS 2024.

I’m confident that after the patches scheduled for release in December, everything will run smoothly without any difficulties. I’ve been flying with Microsoft Flight Simulator for 40 years, starting with FS2, and I can honestly say that this amazing program leaves nothing to be desired.

Thank you, Microsoft and Asobo!

Nice. Something positive for a change. :+1:t2::slightly_smiling_face:

Keep up this thread people. Not saying everythings perfect with MSFS2024 but a little contrast to all the whining, moaning and complaining I read over the last week will do the forum some good I think.

Loving MSFS2024 :brown_heart::partying_face:

Have to agree. I am having great fun with FS24 (free flight only so far - not interested in missions or career at this juncture). Yes there are some annoying bugs, but that aside I found it to be a great game. Looking forward to the two patches coming up over the new few weeks. They hopefully will improve the game.

I spent 8 hours yesterday loading and reloading 5 minute flights in the Asobo Bonanza as I was testing how the sim reacts to Vcore, non-Vcore, and all-core affinites. I also tested TAA, DLSS DLAA and DLSS Quality for performance.

Core assignments don’t seem to matter. That’s puzzling, but I think I’m hitting a GPU limitation. I’m sticking with my 3090 Ti for the foreseeable future. I was seeing these numbers 1,200 ft. over NYC with mostly Ultra settings. I’m pretty happy with that.

DLSS Quality is the best balance of performance and visual quality.

I had zero hiccups of any kind, except for one momentary stutter flying over NYC with the full Ultra preset, and TLOD cranked up to 400.

Launching the sim was very fast, although it was advisable to wait a few minutes for assets to download after selecting a new departure position.

It’s hard to verify, but I think the Rolling Cache is doing its job. Repeating a flight resulted in faster “Ready To Fly.” I have mine set to a custom location on my fastest drive, set to 100 GB, and I verified that the cache file stays there, and is 100 GB in size.

The only negative with the otherwise beautiful graphics is a ‘washed out’ look from inside the cockpit. I’m hoping I can fix that with ReShade, because I can’t get the nVidia App to show me its overlay controls so I can access the filters.

Thanks for this post. There is too much negativity. Dear developers, do not get discouraged. The sim is just mesmerizing. I just made a flight in the default Cubcrafter in Norway through rain and dense clouds with 40 kn headwind as live weather. The turbulence were sizeable and at one point the windshield got dirty. After a very challenging landing my landing gear broke. And then, I ventured out into the woods listening to the rain and enjoying winter landscape.

FS 2024 is leaps better than 2024, although it has its bugs that should be fixed.

I think it is when it’s working, mostly thanks to fenix in my case.

I have noticed some significant improvements over the past week, and I know that trend will continue;
-AI dialogue is getting a bit more varied and a lot less cheesy than it was at first.
-Ground level terrain objects are more varied/detailed (brush/rocks)

Other things I’ve noticed are an improvement over 2020;
-Cockpit/aircraft systems functionality
-Flight physics
-Framerate (it’ll still stutter for me at major airports if I move my pov too quickly, but still a big improvement over 2020)
-I personally like the walkaround mode, and would like the option to do an even more thorough pre-flight

At the very least, the Fenix is in the same highly-polished shape in 2020 and 2024.
