It would seem that this is indeed abandon ware. as I just noticed the status of the 707 in fs2024 is ‘unverified’. That reads to me like noone cares enough about it to test it, which probably explains a lot.

Sad, but not surprising in the slightest, if I’m honest.
The 707 is exhibit A against investing in the Aviator’s Edition or buying these things individually. It’s insulting to everyone that these addons have been all but abandoned.

Folks, Please stay on topic. This topic is for specific feedback about the Boeing 707-320C. Comments about the Aviator Edition can be made here:
Is the Aviator Edition worth it?
Thanks!
If it is why not remove move the encryption and let the flightsim community improve it.
Just saw the 707 in a documentary and was inspired to take it for a flight. Was kinda sad to see that it hasn’t been touched since pretty much before the release of 2024
. Leading edge flaps still do not work.
Nothing more disappointing than seeing all those 707 bugs that were submitted and contributed to a year ago all being closed on the forum. No bug logged, no feedback logged no evidence that anyone even cares any more. Feels like abandonware at this stage. Rolled over by the “look new stuff” truck that was/is FS2024.
The 707 bug reports that were closed due to inactivity, have been reopened.
Doesn’t much matter when they aren’t even logged…
The start levers(assigneld fuel control in the cabin) don’t work with honeycomb bravo. Which command in control menu, should I use to shutdown the engines? “Condition levers cut-off” command haven’t worked. Thе levers have not changed their position.
Surely there’ll be some updates at some point?
This plane just got an update, at least 2020 haven’t checked 2024 version yet. Slats now working without mod! Haven’t found any more corrections yet.
Few more planes ( Junkers F13, Aero AE-45/AE-145Aerovodochody, Dornier Do J) got updates too. ![]()

I just did a couple of circuits in both the passenger and cargo variants to see what’s changed.
The good (things that were fixed/improved):
- Leading-edge slats now work
- Nosewheel steering animation on the passenger version now works
The not-so-good (things that weren’t fixed/improved):
- Spoilerons still don’t work, which means the aircraft requires excessive rudder input in manual flight
- The Carousel INS gained a couple of neat details, but still can’t be interacted with (doesn’t work)
- The fan (forward) thrust reverser on the number-3 engine still doesn’t animate
- I’m not able to comment much on the sounds because I’m using a sound pack I made that overrides the original sounds, but some of the original sounds can be heard underneath that, and I’m pretty sure they’re still the same
So overall, a couple of nice fixes, but it’s still mostly the same. Seems as if we’ve been waiting roughly a year for a couple of small quality-of-life fixes and not much else.
Aeroplane Heaven, please just listen to us here on the forums and do better. I really don’t want to dislike you as a development team, but you’re making it really difficult not to. Much more care and consideration should’ve been put into the development of this iconic aircraft to begin with, as proven by how it released in extremely poor shape, and giving us such a small patch after a year just feels like another slap in the face. Why do you think the 707 has a rating of only 2.8 stars on the Marketplace?
And Microsoft/Asobo, how about prioritizing the release of decent-quality products and updates that are sorely needed on the Marketplace, instead of what you appear to be doing, which is prioritizing the release of shovelware? You really need to change your priorities for Marketplace releases. We shouldn’t need to sit on our hands for months awaiting an update to a first-party aircraft while you continue to approve copious amounts of shovelware for release in the meantime.
Hello @zBrainlezz,
Microsoft does not prioritize or de-prioritize any items on the Marketplace. What new/updated products are released each week is determined by the developers of third-party products themselves based on when they sign-off that testing has finished and their product is ready for release. This is not a zero-sum game; if Product A is released one week, it does not mean that Product B was held back that same week.
Thanks,
MSFS Team
I appreciate the info. My understanding was that either Microsoft or Asobo - or both - had their own QC process that new releases and updates on the Marketplace get put through before they’re released, and products/updates that don’t pass this essentially get sent back to their developers for fixes. My thought process here was that, since that QC process is presumably full of shovelware from… certain developers… higher-quality products, and updates for same, are being delayed. Truthfully, am I incorrect?
I realize this is off-topic, and maybe it should be its own thread, but it’s something I’ve been wondering about for a long time now.
Hello @zBrainlezz,
When the Marketplace first launched, it was indeed the case that Microsoft performed testing on all products submitted by developers to the MP. However, that process changed several years ago, and now all third party developers are required to perform functional testing and sign-off of their own products. Once a developer signs off that their product has been tested and is ready for release, it is then included in the next round of MP releases (every Monday and Thursday).
It’s a very common misunderstanding among flight sim players that products from one developer cause delays to products from another developer being released on the MP. That’s not the case at all.
Thanks,
MSFS Team
I see. I didn’t know any of this. Thanks ![]()
Are there official patch notes?
