[MSFS2024] Cessna 208 B Grand Caravan EX

Same. The aircraft dutch rolls badly even with yaw damper on.

How do I set up reverse thrust in the control bindings menu? Any advice would be appreciated.

Anyone else noticed that anti-ice does not function?

Nav lights not working C208B.

You have to bind the THROTTLE PREVIOUS DETENT option. Use it once to go into BETA (from what I understand a kind of Idle), and a second time to go into full reverse.
Also bind the THROTTLE NEXT DETENT (or just push your throttle forward)

I had the same difficulty when landing , normal braking was insufficient. It worked well in 2020 . I thought it was my set up on the hotas one . Having problems setting that up especially the brakes and throttle but hope something happens soon getting around it . Other planes with single prop I found okay. It might have been a bug with the caravan ? I’ve bypass it for the time being.

i have a three position switch on my TB flight deck throttle. full forward is low idle condition for taxi, (switch 6) set high idle to the same switch and set it to “set on release” so it returns when you move it off that position and put it on middle position. for button four (full back) I have it keyed to HOLD REVERSE THRUST. so when i touch down i switch it back and throttle up for reverse thrust. if you only have one button, use that one and select the TOGGLE REVERSE THRUST command.

Devs, hire this man.

I am trying to do the first golden career mission in a cargo 208 in Japan, the crosswind is super strong on landing, I crashed a couple times, finally made the landing, and the game would not end after taxing. Anyone know the trick to get past the first golden career mission, so I can fly cargo somewhere else with it?

There is a bug report in that reports the yaw damper is not functioning in the C208B.

There is a recent new bug topic that so far involves only the 208B and collision detection, but it’s still too early to tell if it’s related to the aircraft specifically or just been coincidence. The only two reports have been from the OP and myself. If anyone else has noticed anything relevant, like having a collision with something that you were physically clear of, give this post a read and maybe throw in your two cents.

The collision box for the C208B does appear to be wider than the wingspan. The canned mission for your Turboprop certification has you returning and parking next to a building, but if you follow the taxi visual assistance back to the parking spot you will “crash” into the building despite there appearing to be a foot clearance between the wingtip and the building
or maybe it’s the collision box for the building that’s wider than the building’s walls?

What does the “mission step” tell you to do? If it’s to stop the engine then pull back the condition lever (red one) to the “Cut off” position, and make sure the engine starter switch is also off (pedestal at your left knee), or else the propeller will not stop.

I flew the flight again tonight, it had the most turbulence ever, and in VR the tail wagging was getting out of control. I lucked out, and the wind today was blowing straight down the runway at 30 knots. I landed and completed the mission!!!

I’ve created a bug report about the “mysterious” disappearance of the cargo in mid-flight.

If you suffer this problem too, please vote!

For those interested, I found some documentation on the C208B at the Caravan Nation website, a POH, a checklist, some tips on operating in icing conditions, and some basic engine documentation.

amazing info, thank you! does our 208 have ice boots? it says liquid system, so i think its using deicing fluid. would be interesting if that was modeled.

Hi guys, sorry noob here but I need help please flying this aircraft.

Please bear with me as you’ll see from this post I dont know what I’m doing.

I’ve been flying it in career mode, several sucessful flights on medium cargo missions, I have not been skipping but I have been using increase simulation speed.

Anyway, after every mission where it gives you the scores, one of them “respect the aircraft condition” is always pretty low, like 60%. This is not something I have experienced with other aircraft in carrer mode (Cessna 172, Vision Jet and ES-30 (on the odd occasion thats actually worked)) and usually finish the mission with the score being like 95%.

I am landing smoothly so I don’t think its that.

What I suspect its something to do with is how to control the engine/power.

I note on ths aircraft, there is a Throttle, Propeller and then Engine Condition.

I gather engine condition is simple a case of setting it to high idle whilst flying, and then low idle for taxi.

However I am struggling with the other two, I know it’s generally not good to stress your engine out at 100% all the time, but im struggling to get the “ITT 'c” guage to stop flashing red.

So for example right now I have my throttle set to 76% - with the propeller set to 100% its in the yellow, but adjusting that doesnt seem to change anything?

What am I doing wrong?

Currently it seems to do nothing. Ice keeps collecting even anti ice on max.

I always set the propeller to only 90% for takeoff, or else it will go to the red during takeoff and climb. I also pull it back to 85% for cruise.

For throttle, I use only 90% for takeoff and climb for the same reson so torque doesn’t go red. For cruise, I use the small blue mark on the torque gauge to set it, or maybe a bit lower in case of turbulence.

The condition lever doesn’t seem to do much. I had successful flights with both low idle and high idle settings. In real you’re supposed to taxi with low idle and fly with high idle, I haven’t noticed any difference for flight however.

The career mode is very sensitive for the engine condition. If you even just touch the red torque/RPM states, the engine will degrade rapidly. Even if you don’t, the “aircraft condition” score will probably not be perfect. I haven’t had it higher than 85% even with a “perfect” flight.
