FSR is only for AMD cards right?
I would say so but setting it 200 doesn’t hurt my performance so I do it just in case.
As far as I know it’s a similar tech but of course the percentages may be different
Oops it wasn’t meant for me … My bad
This driver (522.25) doesn’t feel like ‘love at first sight’ but it’s tempting because some micro-stutters seem to have gone. “Placebo, go away”!
I used DDU to remove the previous drivers and NV-Install to install the 522.25 drivers bloat-free.
Of course I made screenshots of all my settings to be able to create a one on one comparison.
DX12 gives me a better performance compared to DX11 so both these screenshots are created using DX12.
Game ready driver 517.48
Game ready driver 522.25
Note: The difference in color-tone is caused by the adjustments I still have to balance in Geforce Experience. The last GF experience version seems to be enhanced enough to use some (color settings) functions. I still won’t let it touch other settings because it messes things up badly.
To be short, nothing spectacular for now, but it requires more in-depth testing to judge the quality and stability of this driver.
Question: I noticed NVidia 522.25 activated DSR-factor by default (see screenshots). I never used that setting because it made no difference for my Pc. Because there are two actions required to activate this setting I can’t imagine I activated it myself. Did I accidentally touch a button I should have left alone or is this a change more of you noticed?
517.48
522.25
Happy landings
Whatever, I still recommend it because anti aliasing is definitely improved. Use the top 2.25 DL option. User choice but 33% smoothing is about right.
I know others have positive result using this option, but I asked if it was adjusted by Nvidia (as the new default).
Oh sorry … no I don’t think so or rather not normally with a clean install … however I had weird anomalies like the change resolutions page was absent. I’ll do another clean install to test
Edit: Off by default. I’m guessing you didn’t untick GForce experience
PS. The 2nd install fixed my custom resolutions and NIS options
I am seeing a healthy improvement with these drivers. DX12 2560 X 1440 most settings ultra/high other than CPU intensive settings. Feels silky. Happy days. ![]()
How are you guys finding it?
There was no difference with the new driver for me. Exactly the same rotten DX11 performance, and all the same DX12 performance, complete with the broken ground textures.
Did a clean install of the GPU drivers and installed 517.40 (Studio) and over southern Ca. with T-45 (High setting), Cache ultra, AF x16, Vsync On the FPS will hold steady at 50fps with my system…(Not bad at all)

Incredible. I don’t believe it. How can one driver change so much?
This handily bests the recent MSFS game-ready driver. With hyperthreads enabled. Even on DX12 without using DLSS. Without rolling cache. Even in…Manhattan.
Performance was actually, somehow, finally even with DX11, better in many places.
Stutters exist, but much less frequent. The vibe is now smooth, with the odd hiccup turning around highly-detailed towers or bridges. Low-and-slow finally practical on something other than an ultralight.
All in 4K, because I refuse to compromise on resolution.
Perhaps it’s finally using the power of last year’s 3080ti. “Optimized” indeed.
Today’s flights were much closer to how it should have been all along.
Experiences will vary wildly, we’ve seen it. For me: Bravo.
Who knows how good this might be on something newer than my trusty old i7-8700K…
You guessed right…
I assumed NV-Cleaninstall would also remove GF-E. As I had to reinstall and reconfigure GF-E. It didn’t occur to me the changes (DSR factor) could have been caused by this.
Just to be sure I think I’ll also do a second (clean) round of de-installing.
NvSlimmer does get rid of the ge force experience unless you ticked the option to keep in in nvslimmer.
DDU should clean everything up
Great performance boost, now i can use 100% rederscale with my G2 VR, DX11, 3080. 80% renderscale before driver and now it smoother with 100 % very happy.
guys, try my IF you are using a 1080p or a 1440p monitor, USE DLDSR with DLSS instead of native+TAA or Native+DLSS
DLDSR+DLSS with this performance boost. you will have a much better experience with both DLSS and the visuals
your cpu as all similar like 8686@5ghz edition or 9700k with good enough oc stay very good and still probably about year or even more for most games. only one cause to update system of that generation is balance with new pcie lines faster drives and ram so + some cores and ghz in new generation cpu it’s just cool bonus and opportunity for something that can give system with 7+ghz memory and monsters like 3090-4090 rtx i saw test games video on youtube where your cpu was at 5.3ghz the mine 9700k probably need nitro or freon or cryo or whatever for take that altitude… so don’t be so humble lol
it’s must be true. because dlss it’s not just change resolution it’s very good classic antialiasing with all plus you can get from that. the more rtx generation gpu the more tensor cores the more quality of dlss. so actually if use your method it’s can and will give very good result.
p.s. but. i use native+dlss 3440x1440 and everything looks cool. little problem of dlss for me it’s a microlag. probably because my rtx card from first generation 2080ti. and dldsr will not fix that. lag about water and some other grid or ribbed surfaces. when that drop on the eye it’s shimmering. immediately go to normal. but first frames shimmering with all complex textures like mentioned grid and water… but any way. who need more crispy picture your method must be better than taa
I can confirm a increase over the last driver. Went from 25fps up to 45fps same airport time and weather as a test bed.
Wow - it’s a miracle!![]()
Strangely I have absolutely no difference with the new driver, both with TAA and DLSS. I am on DX12 with 3090 Quest 2 Steam VR.
