Hello,
I’ve been playing with my new Flightsimulator since last November on Windows 10. I would like to know as I learned in the meantime that Win 10 won’t exist anymore longer and gradually is dying out. How does it make an impact on my flightsimulator if I got to switch to Windows 11 ? .Do I have to make a new installation all over again from the very beginning because of Win11 or gets the whole FS taken over automatically by Win 11 and I need not do anything! Would be very nice if you could answer me thanks a lot in advance!!
Windows 10 support ends on Oct 14, 2025.
You most certainly can upgrade to Windows 11 anytime. Just make sure to select ‘Keep Personal Files & Apps’ when doing so.
I’ve upgraded from Window 10 to 11 about a year ago and have no issues. The Start Menu will be something you may have to get used to though.
Yes i am But you are right to use english
First of all, I was one of the first in Denmark to get online back in the 90’s. In the 80’s I had the Flight Simulator II on my Commodore 64! Second, this forum which Microsoft build - I thought it was easier to find I’ve flown 500 hours in MSFS20 alone - I actually rented an airplane with a pilot during COVID19 and took photos from above and in the airport (low pass) - some similar to MSFS and others not.
I’ve just made a video with Sky Dolly published on Youtube and now working on a better visual setup for the viewers.Feel free to contact me if you want to fly PA Arrow III/TBM 930.

500 hours? Wow! I only have about 300
Happy flying!
A post was split to a new topic: Waypoints reverses from Departure Airport
Hello All!
I’m a complete newbie to flight simulator. I’ve been searching and reading up on MSFS over the past week and watching countless YouTube videos to help prepare me for when my gear arrives LOL. The latest Flight Simulator piqued my interest with its realism - I am not a gamer or simmer but thought this would be a great way to start :).
Hello,
I bought an update recently by Microsoft store called airport static aircraft by LVFR version 2.0.5 to have a larger variety of different aircraft on the ground on airports.By surprise unfortunately I discovered two aircraft on the blocks wedged into each other It looked horrible indeed. How this can be fixed?,indeed I deinstalled the update and reinstalled again hopefully to have it fixed but unfortunately of no avail. What can I do?
hi you can call me th i am playing msf symulator to practice on different aircraft . checking systems from start to shot down. im interest in learning about prop. engines ga aircraft in Microsoft flight Simulator X
Hi @Majapoochie ,
If youre having trouble with any of the 3rd party add-ons go to the 3rd party category on these forums or look for support on their own website/discord/forums
Hello,
thanks for your comment. This update product I didn’t buy from a third party but was on sale in the marketplace of the FS website itself, therefore wouldn’t even know where I might get any sort of alleged support from such an update by microsoft it was sold as such.
The Marketplace is actually full of third party software.
LVFR is the developer where you should get support. They have a website latinvfr.com
Hello,
That what I actually didn’t know in the first place that the marketplace is full of third party software because I don’t own the FS for so long, but anyway in the meantime I got in touch with the so called deleloper LVFR and dropped off my complaint that i hopefully may get an answer soon.
Both Microsoft/Asobo and third party developers offer their products in the marketplace and I completely understand the confusion.
Think of the marketplace as a central market where you can buy almost anything that has been made available for MSFS.
Another important thing to know: Since there is no real control over the quality offered on the marketplace (yet?) I would strongly advise to do your own research before you buy anything from it, as there might be some products on there that don’t offer the quality/content you might expect.
Hi! I’m kaniwalla!
I’ve been casually simming for a while, but recently I’ve invested in some new gear and started seriously learning procedures and aircraft.
Love that this sim is gorgeous, and attracts high-quality addons. Still getting used to flying, but hopping on Vatsim is my current goal once I feel like I won’t be a liability.
Hope everyone is having a great day!
Welcome! If you need any assistance head to #community-support and ask a question there
Happy flying and see you in the sky!
It’s a big one, sorry!
Hey there!
Like many I’ve always wanted to know what it’s like to fly the commercial liners which transport us and like many I’ve come to realize it’s highly unlikely. But I do keep looking longingly at anything from Cessna lessons to full motion sims. And of course MSFS.
As the 40th Anni edition was approaching last year I finally figured I could at least do that. Of course I made a few mistakes and immediately went out and bought an X56 HOTAS (which does as much harm as good in this game) on top of the game, and went in full confidence thinking it would be easy peasy. It was humbling, in part due to the throttle really not being compatible with something like the Cessna and the stick having a slight deviation. I got angry at the tutorial failing me even though I did exactly what it told me to, and my first solo free flight landed upside down in a creek surrounded by cows. So I gave up in frustration.
But I didn’t give up hope, even got the rudder pedals to go with it (those I should have bought first, they make things SO much easier) and did nothing for months until last week. Then I finally started it up, and immediately gave up when it showed me the updates it was going to do. I now have about 3 hours of game time, 300 hours of download time. Not that Steam knows the difference. Even found out you can not download at high speeds or it will get stuck in download loops. Cruel irony.
After another week of downloading I finally tried redoing a tutorial mission today only to get frustrated right away. The HOTAS was made for an airliner, not a prop plane. So I loaded up the airliner tutorial, ran into a memory leak and am unable to even start it. Bought the FS Academy one which actually works fine, although here too the HOTAS sometimes defaults to turning off the AP or setting the throttle where it’s not supposed to be.
Finally to end the day, I tried one short flight in a Cessna with AI ATC (it was hard enough keeping it in the air, let alone operate the radio), from cold start to finish. To my amazement I aced it (once I figured out how to turn on the lights). My climb was a bit slow and my nose a bit high on the landing, but I finally did it. It felt so good to see the logbook appear when I turned off the power at the end. Gives me hope to keep trying.
I do hope I get at least capable enough that I can fly with people in groups, just do short trips together like I see people do in streams sometimes. Explore places I’d never go otherwise, maybe chat a bit.
I’m also a real sucker for the non-flying parts. All the checklists, the function of every button, every procedure. I want to learn what it takes to fly, especially everything I don’t see as a passenger. At some point I’ll probably learn ATC and volunteer at one of the free ATC services, just so I can gain experience talking like that.
Right now it would really help me to get some tips on tweaking that X56, it is definitely not the best choice for MSFS and I also suspect it needs some calibration. I’ll probably get a Honeycomb or even that Airbus HOTAS at some point (maybe even some basic panels), but for now I think the hundreds I’ve already spent for my 3 flying hours is enough.
I may also make a thread about that memory leak I’m experiencing whenever I load up the tutorial. I really do want to at some point finish all the tutorials with an A.
And does anybody know of good YT channels or the likes where I can get step-by-steps that I can follow along, or instructions? I don’t want to end up knowing how to fly only 2 planes.
Anyways, it’s difficult to stay motivated when the game makes it so hard to even run it, but I’m still here. And I intend to keep going.
If you made it this far, thank you!
