I’m most interested in learning about becoming a better pilot in Microsoft Flight Simulator:
But, mostly, I just started using the standard version and I’m confused about some controls that don’t seem to work. I’m flying a Beechcraft. I want to go slow at relatively low altitude so I can check the scenery. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to be able to set the autopilot to hold altitude using Ctrl-T. I don’t understand when I click the alt button on the dashboard why I’m getting a little overlay showing a button pressed on one side and “ON” on the other side but as soon as I release the mouse, the control turns off.
What am I missing?

Hi and welcome 
Once you reach Trust Level 1 you can create a topic in the Aircraft category where you can ask about your issue. Basically spend some time around the forums for about 20 minutes and you should get it.
One of the community members will be able to help then.

How and where do I download addons and how can I change the reg number and paint scheme?

Add-ons can be downloaded and purchased from the in-game marketplace as well as via external sources (eg. The website of the add-on developer).
Downloads via external sources have to end up in your community folder. Be sure to read the installation instructions from the 3rd party developer.
The registration number and livery/paint schemes can be altered via the plane selection screen in the world map. Here you can also alter weight, fuel, and callsign.

Hey, I’m Shaun from Belgium. I’m playing on PC and the reason why I love MSFS is because the lovely VFR flying.
A couple of years ago I was doing my flight training but unfortunately a couple of weeks before my exam my instructor died in a plane crash with a friend of mine who also did the flight training and just passed her exam. I really would like to start again but I don’t have enough money with a mortgage to pay off.
Currently I have some computer issues. I would like to play MSFS on a remote desktop (Moonlight, Parsec, …) but this doesn’t work with my joystick. I will create a second post for this.

Guys.
I’m still looking for someone to explain to me why certain functions in-flight don’t seem to work, e.g. when I try to activate the autopilot to maintain altitude, it doesn’t work. If I try to click on the Hold Altitude button, a small overlay appear with the shape of a button on the left and an indicator that says “ON” on the right. But as soon as I release the button, it goes off.
Anyone knows why I can’t activate the autopilot??
I think he means in the sim 
I’ll try and help you out in a little bit, but I suggest watch some tutorials on YouTube on the plane you are flying.
Yes I am new to the flight sim word. I actually ha ve a ? … I am simming on a Xbox series x and I go to the market place to purchase add on and it says basically denied. And yes there is money available. I also have the Xbox ULTIMATE game pass so the MSFS version that came with it. My Navy fed card for puch. All good yada_yadaa… Did I not set something up on the simm I need too ?? I can buy games on it though…

Ok, at the main screen. At the upper right hand corner, there are 4 circles. Far right is notifications, next circle is friends. Click on that at top type my gamertag in, and click add.
