New to VR. Problems with the HP Reverb G2. Major stuttering when turning head even with lowest settings

Like the title says…I am having terrible stutters while using my brand new HP Reverb G2. Even with the sliders pinned to the left the picture still breaks up when I move my head. It is completely unplayable. I have spent hours watching tutorials and playing with the settings. It does not seem to matter what I do.. In fact, other than picture quality there is little difference in performance between high and low settings. I find this incredibly odd. Last weekend I played MSFS with the quest 2 and was using high/ultra settings. I cant seem to get the G2 even close to the level of playability I got with the quest 2. If anybody can point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.

My setup:
i7-12700k
32 gb ram 3400
RTX 3070ti FTW

Do you get stutters when out of VR?

MSFS used to be smooth for me, but since yesterdays patch my MSFS is stuttery as well. Apparently it’s also affecting other people, but not eveyone. I hop eAsobo can fix it soon!

My pc runs everything as normal. Not even a hiccup on high/ultra in 2k outside of my headset. As soon as I put it on it turns MSFS into a stuttering mess. It is even hard navigate the world map in VR right now.

Windows 11 22H2? If so, do this Windows 11 22H2 Update available to address performance issue (HolographicShell Event Tracing)

I have found re-booting MSFS and/or my whole computer once if not twice eventually results in smooth framerates. Usually it ends up stuttering as of late, anyway. I get mixed results depending on the day.

I have the same issue and working with windows 10. To me as a software developer in the past, it’s looks like an initialization issue in the core of msfs2020.
Only when I start at the main page with the globe and go into VR then all is OK, no stutters, but once I go temporarily to 2D and back to VR it stutters like hell.
This is unrecoverable for me. I have to close the WMR portal to get it right in 2D. After that it does not help to restart the WMR portal.

If you are you using DirectX-12, switch to DirectX-11.

If you are on Windows 11 22h2 then the KB5020044 Update and a recent NVidia Driver are needed.

Also installing the Mixed-Reality OpenXR Runtime from the Microsoft Store and the OpenXR Toolkit is highly recommended.

Same for me. The trick is to start the flight with the VR headset already on. If I switch from 2D it’s a stuttery mess.

Yes, that seems the only way to do.
Let’s hope it will be solved one day…

I’m on DirectX-11 and use the OpenXR Toolkit, but does not help

Check out this thread for the lastest on how to run the G2. DX12, DLSS Performance seems to be best.

Ah sorry, my post was intended for the orignal topic Author.

Switching between 2D and VR could cause Problems for me too in the Past.
But i don’t know how i solved that eventualy.
