Um, with all due respect for DDU, this is probably not the best place to start with a new PC in the hands of a new owner. There are so many CTD causes beyond graphics drivers, probably best to pause here and look elsewhere so as not to introduce more variables than necessary?
Why not start a new thread listing your entire hardware/software set-up and Steam issues. Good idea to tag it with Steam as well, as there are Steam users who know about Steam issues. You will likely attract many knowledgable PC experts that way, rather than in this driver thread?
Hi Citation66. No no, you are good with 577.00. No need to do anything. 577.00 Geforce driver is the only windows driver has the security vulnerabilities patched. All drivers (R575 branch) prior to 577.00 has the vulnerabilities. No need to worry about. Have a great day. Also R580 branch is coming on next.
Removed the soundcard drivers with DDU in safe mode.
I use an old Sounblaster Audigy FX card instead of my motherboards inbuilt Realtek one.
I have disabled the onboard sound in the bios and thought Iād removed any trace of the Realtek drivers but DDU still showed some that needed removing. Reinstalled the sounblaster drivers and rebooted and everything is fine now.
Flew over London with PG on and within about 0.5 miles of Heathrow which had some live traffic taking off. Got very slight graphics stuttering when I looked to the right at Heathrow but only lasted a few seconds. Sound was rock solid throughout with no stuttering.
Not sure why it suddenly seemed to have sound problems after the 577.00 driver install but the reinstall seems to have fixed that so farā¦
Might be worth a try for anyone suffering Sound glitches. Try using the DDU uninstall for sound drivers (at your own risk obviously) .
Now if only they could re enable the freestyle filters on this driver it would defnitely be the best one for me so farā¦
I am getting poor performance in 2020. It has nothing to do with this latest driver. But I did try DLSS 310.3.0 in 2020 and 2024 and am liking it. I will keep it for now.
Make sure Windows is fully up to date via Windows update. Use DirectX12 I had crashes to desktop on DX11 MSFS 2020. Also try adjusting other graphics settings, set everything to low and minimums etc., just for testing of course and then dial up. Of course you have a 5080 so it should handle a lot of high settings. Test another gameā¦etc.
I tried 577.0 yesterday and had 4 flights. But in the last flight, the sim freezing after I took off.
I never had this issue for months using 566.14 on MSFS2024 with my RTX4080 (framegen ON).
No the filters are not working on the 577.00 driver.
They did work on one of the 57x.xx drivers but it didnāt perform well for me. If you want filters the best bet is 566.36.
Hi, to clarify my posts above, the way I came upon preset K with 577 on my 5070Ti was to first use DLSS Swapper to have DLSS 3.10.0 and Preset K for both 2020 and 2024 (I still fly both). Then in the NVIDIA app (yes I know not all use it and that there are leaner ways to go about this which I am not at all challenging here) like @WaterLattice34 above, I am selecting the override as follows, but NOT selecting preset K in the NVIDIA appā¦
577.00 removed a grapical glitch I had. I also had some frequent stuttering (sound and graphics) before 577.00. Now only some stuttering at the start of a flight.
Anyone here get constant 0xc0000005 CTDs with FS2020 SU15 on these 577.0 drivers. I keep getting that CTD when flying in-between Montreal and Ottawa near Hawkesbury, Alexandria and Cornwall, weirdest part is I have done the YUL > YYZ flight 40 separate times in the past and not once had a CTD tho I was on 572.70.
