Why do you have it on legacy? That’s only for airplanes converted from FSX. All the new ones will not behave correctly.
I dont think that people are deliberatly lying but I get your fustration.
But there clearly are those who have formed an opinion on what the Sim SHOULD be rather than what it IS.
In a way the fact that they place their expectations so high is a compliment to Asobo/MS as these people clearly think that the Sim should be capable of what they expect.
The simple truth people is that producing this Sim, in all its aspects (and there are many many different aspects that need to be considered that all have to come together in this Sim) is a bit like Juggling with one hand tied behind your back.
There is no doubt that this is the most impressive Fligjht Simulator (I just put my helmet on) around at the moment.
If you think of all the different strands of info that have to interact and come together on your screen, it is one hell of an achievement. Most ‘games’ control their entire environment. Piece of cake. This flight simulator gets data from outside.
Can we just focus on constructive comments and stop the ■■■■■■■■ a bit?
If you dont like the Sim, if you think it is pants then please just stop using it or post somewhere else.
You may not be ‘lying’ but you are being extremely fustrating with your negative comments.
I will now duck.
You’re entitled to your opinions of course, as is everyone.
However the criticisms that have been launched at the sim are precisely the reason that you have the impressive sim you now have.
Evrn Asobo admitted the disaster thst was su5 and it is regrettably a fact, as anyone who’s been here since launch will testify, that with almost every update things that were working have been broken.
That is not unfair criticism, nor is ‘being negative’; it’s just a statement of fact and doesn’t take anything away from what has in fact been achieved by Microsobo.
I dont think this is what ‘legacy’ setting means??
I hope someday the programmer in charge of the Garmins gets out from under NDA and can tell the story of why it’s been such a doozy of a bug to fix the turnaround issue.
For the flight model? That’s exactly what it means. It’s backward compatibility for airplanes directly converted from FSX. But it ruins any flight model created natively for MSFS (so everything except some freeware mods). Summing up you should use the modern flight model, always.
Unless you’re talking about the legacy interaction model, but that’s something completely different.
There may well be other sites that aircraft can be purchased from, but this is irrelevant to Xbox users who are restricted to the in-game Marketplace. As for 50 aircraft in the marketplace, again, that number may be correct for PC but it’s not for Xbox, and the Reno DLC isn’t 40 planes - liveries maybe, but not individual aircraft.
Quite right. Pointing out errors or problems in a constructive way is fine and was not what I was referring to.
Blaming Xbox for the reason there are what are deemed as poor graphics or dumbed down game is completely misguided. How many different PC setups are there and how many run the game full out?
I run my Xbox in full 4K mode on a 65” screen, how many PC users are doing that?
In fact my Xbox Series X specs are higher than a lot of PC’s out there.
So, can we please stop bashing Xbox as it’s not the issue.
I might even suggest that Xbox is a better platform to develop for as you know exactly what specs you are using and learn how to optimize for it. With so many different PC configuration, that creates a nightmare situation for stability.
From about 3m away rather than 60cm?
In which case the UI changes suit your large viewing distance while making it a bit of a pain to use when sitting in front of a desktop monitor.
(The way the sim handles scaling also changed so now pop-outs dragged to 2nd monitor have poor text scaling)
This was one of my hopes, and yet the XBox is also suffering CTD’s. The positive here is that Asobo can’t blame Community addons for those crashes, and any fixes there may carry over to the PC version too.
“Blaming Xbox for the reason there are what are deemed as poor graphics or dumbed down game is completely misguided. How many different PC setups are there and how many run the game full out?”
Not true. While we probably can’t blame Xbox per se, we definitely can blame SU5 when Xbox was introduced. Check out this thread:
100% agree with you!
They do need to work on scaling for sure, I see pop ins going from small to large at times.
They are working to get multiple monitor support I have read.
Well, I have been here since launch, and see this quite differently. SU5’s mistake was communication about the culling, that’s the main thing that made people angry. As a whole, SU5 has been the most important update thus far, as it improved the performance across the board for everyone, cleaned up old FSX code and optimized memory usage.
And yes, things have been broken with the updates, but also hotfixes have been applied to fix those issues and the new open beta was introduced after SU5. It’s ok to have doubts about the upcoming updates, but I cannot agree with people disregarding half of the facts and missing the bigger picture.
What exactly is now boring and poor that left you speechless before? I am really struggling to understand what exactly has been graphically so downgraded that it warrants the constant complaints. The sim can look like this today, how exactly did it look better before?
@Beulah6126 I am flying in VR on a regular basis, and have been since it was launched a year ago. Yet I cannot say I have noticed any severe degradation in graphics. Could you maybe post an example of then and now? When I check the screen shots in the “What did you today in MSFS” thread from the beginning, I really cannot tell any difference either.
Since last update I have not been able to use my recently purchased MSFS at all, half way through the checking for updates it just closes down, that is despite uninstalling and reinstalling.
When I first got it for Windows 10 it worked fine. Not now.
Any suggestions?
@KBL007 I would suggest filing a ticket with Zendesk selecting the “I can’t download or install the sim” option highlighted in the screen shot below.
I hope you get the issue sorted.

Yes – this is the part I do not understand – The MS Store Market should be “Low Hanging Fruit” for MS to make money, but yet, every day they delay a 3rd part Developer from joining and putting product on the Marketplace, they are loosing money.
