I am a little bit disappointed that my settings issue did not make it on the list of the bugs addressed in the hotfix, as I guess it is something rather simple to fix: [BUG LOGGED] Settings do not stick since SU5

Same goes for the bug, that for texture quality, the value “0” in the UserOpt.cfg represents ultra, while “3” means low and for all other settings, it is the exact opposite, resulting in quiet some confusion whether or not the setting inside the sim should be put on “low” or “ultra” to actually have ultra texture quality.

In theory it shouldn’t because the FPS gains were mainly from CPU optimisations, like the changes in glass cockpit rendering. We’ll see what happens when the implement the slider for object caching. I don’t know how it would be presented, but if it were on an arbitrary scale of 1-100, they might present the default as 50. If you leave that alone it would be the same as it is now, but you’d have the option of moving it up higher, hopefully all the way to how we had it pre-SU5. That will have an impact.

Have you tried this? Load up the sim → Profile → Content Manager and then check what’s not installed from there. I can’t imagine your account all of a sudden had its access to content removed completely.

That won’t happen unless your system is bottlenecked by the hardware you have.

… can’t read thru all comments but I’m concerned that my (and many others) no-upgrade-possible-problem is not mentioned in the starter post.
Its all about downloading/decompressing small files which results in a stuck pipeline. CTD and all the other stuff comes only second after a successfull upgrade and restart routine after all.
Am happy to say that zen-support has already answered my ticket asking for further info, hope my reply goes into HF2.
After a week with out the sim you realize how hooked you are, am tired of shooting down Messerschmitts since days…

Ya; I remember how thrilled I was to see pretty much zero pop ups last August when I first fired up the sim. There return was a real bummer for me

Be patient, the thing is they have to triage the cause and I do not think everyone is experiencing this particular issue. This takes time sadly. Lots of the points in these recent hotfixes would have been isolated and triaged prior to the 27th of July.

Yes I agree 100% . Bust Trips are one of the reasons I fly MSFS. I really hope they can fix them. I bought many of then and unfortunatly I can’t use them.

Can you please check the speed of the trim?
I noticed after the update trim is way to fast and that make impossible to trim for straight and level flight. Hand flying is now very difficult. I tried it on C152 C172 and PA28 Arrow by Just Flight.

The mod still works and has been mentioned in the bug threads that were created for this issue.

But there was communication all along that they heard us and took us seriously, but wisely they took their time to triage, discuss and decide before they came up with this excellent piece of communication filled with credible promises. That could not have been done several days ago.

Thankyou for the update, it is a huge relief to hear that the PC version will not be tied to Xbox capabilities.

Are the downgraded shadow draws tied to the over exposure bug? If not please can we have the option to increase shadow draw. I’d also like to see an option to determine how much Memory is used so those of us with 64GB memory and over 8gb VRAM can benefit from the extra memory

Regarding communication. Fear that the PC version would be aligned graphically with the Xbox version is what was driving the outcry on the forums. Earlier communication, simply saying that this isn’t the case and more details will be given soon, would have calmed everyone immediately. So perhaps there is a small lesson that can be learnt here.

It is fantastic to have the XBox version and Asobo did a great job bringing MSFS to a console, the more money that Asobo/MS can make benefits all of us!!

Having ‘everybody’ happy with the performance/visual quality, no matter what their system spec’s, will of course make the most money !! So when you have an engine that is capable of absolutely stunning visuals almost indistinguishable from a photograph you really want this to be available in all its glory, for those with the hardware to run it. Its all about having graphical and performance ‘options’!!

And still no solution for the users who are unable to use or download the software after update 5. I am not aware of any software which poses so much problem after updating. A little consideration for your paying users Mr. Microsoft.

Do you honestly think that they have identified a single reason for a CTD and decided to fix it later? Of course not. As stated, they are continuously investigating, but they cannot provide a reliable time frame for fixing errors they have not found the reason for. You’re a victim of reality, not wrong priorities.

In some cases “old flight simmers” are better than paid professional beta testers, customer support (zendesk) or Microsoft MVP :wink:

In notepad++ or notepad open file named ToolBar.css
Go to line 46 (opacity)
Change 1 to 0

Hi all,

Does anyone know if the new hotfix which includes the fix for volumetric lighting also applies to Xbox or just PC only? I can’t seem to find a clear statement on it but would assume it’s for all platforms unless a specific platform is mentioned in the fixes?
