Yes it would be very useful… But even much more importantly:
The simulation rate can be accelerated (2 X, 4 X,etc.) and reduced (1/2 X, 1/4 X, etc),
via keyboard shortcut, but there is NO keyboard shortcut or other way to reset it to 1X (normal)!
(PMDG had to implement this feature themselves, as Asobo was not capable to do it!)…
This was possible in FSX, 16 years ago…
And here, also with images, just in case that it is not clear.
As ever, Asobo has almost completely neglected the most basic and simple features of a proper flight sim. As PMDG teaches! And again, this was possible in FSX, 16 years ago, and it is possible
today in all the other flight simulators I am aware of…
I agree a reset sim rate option would also be very welcome along with the simple Shift-Z bar we had in FSX it showed lots of usefull info, and yes i know there is a mod on pc and i have that but i also play on xbox and xbox doesnt have that.
Yes, but that mod on PC does not have an option to RESET sim rate.
I am no programmer, but I suppose it’s a matter of a couple of lines of code…
And again, this was possible in FSX, 16 years ago, maybe even in FS 2000,
22 years ago, and it is possible today in all the other flight simulators I am aware of…
I just ran into this problem as well. I think I coincidentally hit the sim rate + button (on Num pad) during my approach to Quito airport SEQM (at an altitude of 7900ft). I noticed the aircraft responded much more sensitive during my final approach and landing and I thought it was due to the high altitude.
When I noticed the marshaller at the parking spot was waving much quicker than usual as well, I finally realized that it was the double sim rate.
I have now removed the sim rate +/- assignments from the keyboard, so this won’t happen to me again.
Does anyone know if Asobo is going to put the sim rate on the screen in any update?
I’ve not heard anything about Asobo adding this but there are at least two 3rd party planes I own (pmdg 737s and Sting S4) that provide some visual indication of simrate so hopefully other 3rd party devs will consider supporting this as well.
I am using Shift Z msfs addon, it shows simrate on the left top with FPS too. Check google about shift z msfs and you will have it.
Thank you very much. Works fine, like if I were in FSX, but with more information
Yes I noticed this as well
It is unbelievable that this isn’t in the sim yet. A must have.
For Flow Pro users: I’ve created a Flow widget that displays the sim rate on screen in a little window. Hopefully some may find it useful as a solution to this. Apologizes to xbox users as Flow Pro is only PC at the moment.
Now, 5.17.2023, they still not add it to game
Use shiftz which is the best.
Cant believe this is still not addressed. I checked out ShitZ, unfortunately this is only for PC. Is there an Xbox User who could help ?
They introduced 1/8 and 1/16 simrate in the latest SU14 Beta, still no way to know the current simrate in the game…
Some visual feedback for what sim rate we are currently running would be a nice addition.
For PC users:
https://flightsim.to/file/16358/shift-z-stats
or:
https://flightsim.to/file/16604/msfs-hudbar
You can cofigurate them for displaying only the sim rate or other infos.
Xbox users should open a Kleenex box.
Have a widget which displays the simulation speed on-screen. Have a slider which controls the simulation speed.
For this one there is an existing wish:
