PMDG 737 Discussion (PC Version) (Part 2)

Were they working on (and releasing) multiple other aircraft at the same time as well?

These are apples to oranges comparisons, really. And regarding iFly, they posted a patch to improve compatibility but it is NOT a native product built using the 2024 SDK and some functionality such as RAAS are still not working even with the compatibility patch. That said, I posted the link just a few posts up, but there’s an entire thread to talk about that product.

If you are referring to PMDG, they have completely different teams working on their various projects.

They made their choice, go with Boeing, and that is fine the have a business. But it is also clear where their priorities are and will be in the future. Nothing wrong with that. Every customer has to make their own decision, I went with Ifly and I really like it.

This. Exactly why I don’t fly it anymore.

I am sure that every bit of technical progress they discover building SIMs for Boeing, which will be very advanced, PMDG can utilise that knowledge into their products for us.

A bit like the benefits to the world that NASA brings.

The fact that Boeing gives them more money means we get brilliant planes

I’d rather have a product that is tailored for 24 than just a patch for the 20 version to work in 24. MSFS2024 is very different from MSFS2020, and to create a product that works optimally with all new features requires a build from scratch. 24 has optimization issues, especially on consoles, so it’s not an easy task to create an extremely detailed aircraft that performs well on all platforms. Even the standard 737 has perfomance issues. Imagine a more detailed version where you can enter the cabin etc. Yeah, as a software developer myself i totally understand the time PMDG takes for their products. I’d rather have a good product than just a working product, especially for the price PMDG products are.

Looking good! I hope the 700 and 600 are not far behind, because those are the only 737s that I have.

Let’s hope PMDG devs get their act together and actually release liveries on Xbox, when the actual aircraft releases in MP….like everyone else does.

Apologies If this has already been asked. If there’s going to be an upgrade fee how would that work with marketplace purchases? Does the 2024 marketplace support upgrade fees?

Well it does for airports so you have to assume it does for aircraft too. Although I haven’t had any paid for aircraft ugrades to do.

Yes it does LVFR had 2024 upgrades on their A330 and A340 for small fees so I presume that’s what we get as owners already. I’ve seen upgrades with small fees or for free just varies between devs and content

Does GSX work at all with the 737 these days? I had partial success a year ago. Just needed to load fuel from the MCDU but pax and pushback worked. I took a MSFS break until a couple months ago due to life etc

Now, any time I try to use it my #1 engine spools up to 18%. Also get errors about engines needing to be shut down before ground services (i think) If I try engaging after landing my engines again spool up.

tried reinstalling both with no success

Getting closer…

What a beaut!

A couple of YT streamers have indicated they have builds of the aircraft in hand for practice and familiarization this weekend, and that the current plan is for the NDA to lift and allow streaming to start Monday morning, North American time. I would personally expect a release late that week or early next.

Are you sure about that?

Early PS5 access starts on the 3rd Dec. Monday sounds about right to nip those last little buggy critters into shape before the PS5 release.

She’s looking good in MSFS 2024!
