This is good news, Mathijs. From reading the PMDG forum, is sounds like testing of the 777 for Xbox has not yet started? So should we assume this navdata update fix for the 737 will only be available after the 777 is released on Xbox? Can you give an general sense of timing so we can set our expectations appropriately? Will it be weeks, or months? Thank you.
Not everything is throwing shade. They are just saying it takes that time to go through the process.
Updates for all four variants in todays marketplace update.
What are the updates?
These updates are primarily focused on bringing over the stability improvements that we have used in the 777 to tame the dreaded TA/RA freeze, along with a half dozen other freezes that magically appeared in the 737 line after the SU15 update. As with the 777, we know there are still others that are being hunted, and this work continues so expect further updates to follow as well.
We have also made some optimizations to the airplane to improve performance and bought in a few small issue fixes, but I donāt have a list of them as most of the fixes happened outside of the tracking system during 777 development. (We found problems in our core code during 777 development so those fixes then get brought into 737 at the same time in order to solve the problem globally⦠unfortunately that data didnāt get tracked wellā¦so⦠no change list.)
Version 3.0.100
Just departed KSDF in the 738. Activated TA/RA per procedure, no issues in the sim so far, a normal departure and climb out. Will complete the flight to Boston and if no issues, will update the -700 as well. Cheers!
Arrived KBOS (Fly Tampa) after a flawless flight. Will update the -700 presently. Cheers!
Glad to get some visibility on both the 777 and 737 updates for Marketplace, and eventually for Xbox. Seems like it could be a few months before we get the ability to update navdata on Xbox, but at least now we know it is being worked on.
And thisā¦
NOTE: We have reached out to Microsoft for refreshed guidelines and limitations on the availability of livery packs in MSFS and asked for their guidance on procedures to maximize the value to customers. Once we have that guidance we will submit them to Marketplace in a manner that provides the least cost impact to XB users. I recognize that there is quite a bit of misinformation about this process floating around out there but rather than guess we simply go to the source for information and we will submit those in whatever way provides best value to the user. Stay tuned for more information as we get it.

Was that in the context of the 777?
Yes. Setting expectations?
Btw. Just installed the updates and still have the side yoke / everything locked up issue.
Usually a restarts fixes it. Nope. ![]()
Hmmm, I didnāt see that on Series X. Did you clear the RC, if you are are running one?
As for the T7, I need very few liveries, so if it costs a few bucks that will be better spent than some ā ā ā ā aircraft or airport impulse purchases (or an overpriced drive through cheeseburger) LOL!
To be fair, I donāt believe they said they fixed this issue with this update.
But itās a pretty big bug IMO. I get it nearly every other flight.
Going to try the 900. I cannot get the 800 to unlock.
Yikes! I may go back to leaving the transponder in altitude reporting mode! Hope you can get it to work until they finally find the fix.
Just got a CDT.
I been using both 800/900 exclusively the last few days and other than the SU15 LOD issues and 737 loading locked, itās been ok.
Iāve restarted the sim 5x since updating. Iām done tonight. Itās the inconsistency that is the most frustrating. I had the most unbelievable perfect flight the other day. Since then it been terrible. (Tried replicating exact flight and itās like two different sims)
I see why so many just ship to PC. ![]()
No RC btw.
Glad itās working for youā¦.
Yeah when you get that sideways yoke issue you have to restart and that normally fixes it. In fact in sideyoke messed up mode most of the switches donāt work so the yoke being sideways is a good fast way to see that you need to reload.
Flight testing the updated -700 with live traffic on and TA/RA mode selected. The yoke was off on load to KDTW (IniBuilds) so I Cntl-X restarted as a precaution and all was well again. This add on is very demanding and detail was degraded on Series X which was as before/expected. Departure and climb also as expected: I did see some traffic displayed on the MFD out the window as well (nice when it works). A short flight to JFK with nice tailwinds ahead, so far so good for the update.
ā¦And arrived just fine at KJFK. The 16GB rolling cache seems to be working fine for me.
Is it just me or the freezes became worse since the update?
I do a lot of turnarounds and had very little issues before the last update - I usually could do 3-5 turnaround flights per day and very rarely I had a freeze or CTD - and the ctds that I had could be attributed to the sim itself, because they happened only in certain areas and were not limited to the 737.
Now, after the update, I have at least 1 freeze per day, usually on 2nd or 3rd flight and ALWAYS when I click on 'flt plan request". I do everything the same as before - shut down the aircraft after landing and either keep it on APU or GPU, come back later, turn on everything necessary (according to the checklist), type in the departure airport on the init page, request new flight plan on the tablet, go to the route page and press flt plan request. There is a 50/50 chance of a freeze now.
It did not happen before the update and I do those types of flights almost every day since the 737 was released on Xbox (ie. hundreds of turnaround flights for me).
I know there was a bug related to the flight plan request, but it happened very rarely and iirc it was usually triggered by entering the flight number before requesting the flight plan. It is different now and as I wrote earlier, it happens every day for me.
You are not alone in this quest! As the Xbox series X gains more momentum with MSFS , providers like PMDG need to pay more attention and begin supporting the growing market they are ignoring. Iāve build my own systems/simulators since the ā90s but have switched to the console for many reasons, similar to the growing numbers of other Series X users. To be blatantly ignored and misled by companies like PMDG is degrading. Thereās more out here besides the PCs, and the numbers are growing. Gamers may be joining us in the flight simulation world, but there are many of us using the Xbox now who helped devās, like PMDG and even Microsoft, grow into where they are today. Just sayinā ā¦. Let our voice be heard, loud and proud.
