Amazing news! I look forward to giving it a go tonight. Thanks both!
Its worked since 24 was released ā¦sorry you just found out! ![]()
I ah seeing the same issue with load mgmt on Xbox SX live build
They will get all of this fixed. They are on it. The current delay is over how the sim is managing LOD and they have some concerns they are working out with Asobo.
I just cannot wait for the 2024 update, but at least it works pretty dang well regardless.
I found a fix for this. I put the pmdg-aircraft-dc6-liveries directory in the Community folder rather than the Official2020 directory (as before) and it worked. (I recommend using MSFSLayoutGenerator to update the layout.json file. 2024 is very fussy about this fileās timestamps.)
Now I have all my liveries again, nice.
I just had a really nice flight in the DC-6B AA Flagship Mexico. Even with being 2020 Unverified in 2024, Iām finding the DC-6 to be incredibly solid.
I love to fly this incredible aircraft and with 2024ās walkaround it is just majestic to see it in all its glory from the correct perspective of human height.
Iām on bated breath wating for the 2024 native version and every time Rob posts an update about its progess, Iām bummed to see that the LOD issue that they need Asobo to work out with them is still an issue.
Patience is still, and will probably always be, such a necessary part of flight simulation.
I just wonder what that LOD issue might be, when no other native FS2024 aircraft seem to suffer from showstopping LOD issues, including their own 777s.
I have thought the same thing.
However, unlike some opinions about PMDG, I give them the benefit of the doubt.
I love their work, and if their work takes time to get right or there are issues with the SDK/sim that prevent them from doing it the way they want to, issues that other developers are willing to compromise on, I am fine with that. The net result is me coming here to praise an add-on that was released around Nov ā21 for 2020 that still performs better than many brand new aircraft releases.
Perfection is a trait I share with them.
Of course, but Iām still curious on a technical level.
That is not correct. When that happens, we remind the poster that it is indeed one of the rules. If they keep refusing, we might hide posts until that is corrected. PMDG is rather old-fashioned; we feel that hiding behind anonymity does not always lead to meaningful discussion. If you find that unacceptable, you can always use our Discord server, where you can hide your identity if you choose.
We set our prices very late in the process. As a small and agile company, we can do so, allowing us to make last-minute adaptations. I am sorry this insults your intelligence (though I am not sure how it could).

And I feel that making oneās full name public for no very good reason leads to opportunities of identity theft and other shady things. I donāt walk around with my full name on my chest in public, so why would I do that on the internet?
Then do as Mathijs suggests and use the Discord server. If you need formal help, open a support ticket, which is not public.
Dear Jigsaw407, when I talk to people, I will always introduce myself, and I feel an online discussion should not be very different. In our opinion, hiding yourself leads to shady things and makes it easy to be rude, to spread incorrect information (like that we remove posts immediately without asking for a correction), and to insult people. We believe that to be rather good reasons. But as I said, PMDG has some rather old-fashioned values that we are actually proud of. At FSExpo, we had name badges that said āPMDG made me sign thisā, ![]()
We do understand that there are people who feel different, and that is why our Discord does not require that. I believe that solves your problem, does it not?

I like these values very much and value not just the PMDG products I have purchased for Xbox - but the open and honest support PMDG provide for all of their products. I have the superb DC-6, which I am still learning to fly and operate properly, the B737-800, 777-300ER and 777F. They are all superb and with a very high level of attention to detail.
If I was a teacher Iād give PMDG a gold star.
Except in an online discussion you have thousands of anonymous strangers listening in, which absolutely isnāt the case in a face to face interaction. I think itās irresponsible to ask customers to reveal their full name for everyone to see, especially when they might not be aware of the risks.
But letās move back to the topic at hand.
Sorry to resurrect a dead thread like the Lich King, but howās the DC-6 running in FS24? How about the extra liveries from the PMDG Ops Center?
Itās the only addon aircraft I fly regularly that I havenāt migrated over yet. If itās working, I just might fully commit and uninstall FS20.
DC-6 in MSFS 2024? By all means ![]()
While it had some issues earlier (e.g. lag in instrument needles), it runs fine now without any game breaking or noticeable bugs, as far as I am concerned (procedures, performance, AFEā¦).
PMDG commented on multiple occasions that a native MSFS 2024 version was held back by some sim-related issues and its release depend on them being addresses by Asobo.
PMDG ops liveries work fine too.
Agreed it seems to work well in 2024. I do have one issue which Iāve no idea whether the cause is 2024 - when my throttle hardware is at idle position, throttle 1 in the DC-6 jumps to 100%. It could just as easily be some rogue mapping but I just havenāt had time to troubleshoot, and it only happens with the DC-6.
Thatās fantastic news! Shoot, is it time to jump in the FS24 pool??
I fly the DC-6 regularly in 2024, and have for quite some time.
As stated, liveries work, too.
