[Polls] Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Marketplace Feedback

FYI, see:

The Official Microsoft Flight Simulator > Wishlist category is only for 1st-party (Microsoft) requests. There are a number of requests for specific aircraft in that category - just search for the aircraft you are interested in Microsoft developing.

Just watched this. Cut off one head, others will rise, and perhaps in this case the exact same beast.

Wow! It’s too bad SimHanger had to waste his cash on this aircraft to prove a point, but the adage ā€œBuyer beware!ā€ is unfortunately very true when there are sales to be made and not much recourse.

Hi ,

I’d like to start a community discussion to gather all Marketplace improvement ideas in one place. I believe that by centralizing feedback, we can identify the most important changes to request.

Some improvements that have come up before:

  • Better review transparency: For example, only display the average rating and total review count once at least 10 reviews have been submitted. This would help prevent products receiving an artificially high or low rating based on only a handful of reviews.

  • Developer Activity Status: Display when the developer was last active on the Marketplace (for example, ā€œDeveloper responded 5 days agoā€ or ā€œLast product update 3 months agoā€). This gives customers confidence that a product is actively supported.

  • Known Issues section: Allow developers to publish a small ā€œKnown Issuesā€ section directly on the Marketplace page, so customers are aware of any current limitations before purchasing.

  • In-sim clips: Allow developers to upload one or two short, unedited in-simulator clips showing the product in use.

  • In-sim clips (quick gameplay previews)

  • Update history / Changelog: Display a simple version history showing what changed in each update, allowing customers to quickly see whether a product is actively evolving and what improvements have been made.

If a moderator could assist by setting up a poll, I’d love to narrow down the top priority. In the meantime, I encourage everyone to share their thoughts below. I’m not here to just complain—I’ve bought Marketplace products for years, and I just want to help improve it for everyone.

Thanks so much for your help, and I look forward to hearing your ideas!

To use the requirements for developers to be admitted to the marketplace, only two were needed.
A: Unaltered presentation images of the aircraft.
B: MANDATORY screenshots of external and internal photos of the aircraft.
No image alterations with AI.
These should be the requirements to improve the marketplace.

Microsoft (finally) took the step of delisting MScenery from the Marketplace.
Some have noted that a new developer - Creation Scenery - appeared just before the news went public, and suspect that it’s just a rebranded version of the same thing.

Good first step, Microsoft, but IMO the core problems of unreliable reviews, AI product images, and bot ratings remain.

I’d like to hear what others think.

It is sickening that deception is needed or used to make a sale. Honesty is best.

One month before is not ā€˜just before’.

I guess they’re smarter than I am.

They somehow force you to buy slop? That’s interesting… I haven’t had that issue myself. I buy from the Market to support the game’s life and because as surprising as I it is… streaming is nice. Saves me valuable SSD space. And sometimes the prices are best there anyway.

Nor do I. I’m probably as carefully proactive and informed as you.

But that’s not the point - unless you stand with P.T. Barnum and believe the suckers born every minute deserve what’s coming to them.

I despise scammers of every kind. I can’t even say what I think should be done to them.
YMMV

Definitely. Just like speeding people who go past the police officer deserve a ticket and people who go to Vegas deserve to lose their money

Difference is you get a driving instructor who warns you about speeding. Your parents and society warn you about gambling!

Unless you are aware of the pitfalls as a newcomer to MSFS 24, you make innocent errors, believing that a ā€œrespectedā€ name like Microsoft will provide you with the quality you have invested in in buying the sim - why should a newbie be punished for those naive thoughts?

Yes, we all learn what is good and bad but we still have to wait for someone to part with their cash so the rest of us can gloat at the sucker who spent theirs - this is not fair!

And youtubers and reviews (and life in general - no cockpit screenshots??) warn you about slop addons! Youtubers do it because they WANT to do it. Likely most of them know it’s slop and they’ll get clicks and money for showing it. Check youtube for videos like ā€œI bought the WORST games on Steamā€¦ā€ It’s a thing. If everyone went into this kind of thing blind, it’d be one thing - but we don’t. I was new to MSFS once upon a time too. I tried one cheap plane (Deimos) for $3. It was my first addon. I don’t regret/begrudge it even tho it wasn’t the best. It was a $3 plane. It’s no different than the scam/spam emails asking you to ā€œcancelā€ your $500 order you didn’t make. If you fall for that you deserve it.

Obviously the addons aren’t made by MS. Maybe I’m just old… But those assumptions are for the foolish. I don’t buy a Ford (or w/e, not starting a Ford argument here!) from a Lexus dealership and expect it to be a Lexus. Those who do deserve all the foolishness they call upon themselves.

I am not going into this pointless conversation again. Lucky for you, you are blessed with superhuman ability to recognise a scam when you see one. Perhaps a different elderly or very young person is not. You seem to want a one situation fits all and to punish those who are not aware. Why?

Life is not like that and so that is why we have legal systems, political systems etc, etc which try to their best of their abilities to provide a fair system for all. It doesn’t work more times than not, which is why a moral person tries to stand up for those that cannot or are unsuspecting.

It’s so sad to see how few PS5 players( me included) are not getting much stuff in the marketplace, but I’ve read that it’s up to Sony to validate the quality and integrity of products that can be sold on the marketplace for PS5. As for me, I hope they add the Airbus A350-900 and -1000 variants with cabins to the marketplace. One of the main reasons I bought this game was for that specific plane, but sadly, it is still not on the marketplace, and I fear we won’t be seeing airliners being uploaded for a while.

Even the variants without the cabin have a hard time running on Xbox consoles, so I’d be very surprised to see them release on PS5 in their current state, especially adding the cabins.

You got a point, it wouldn’t be smart to release such a complex aircraft, but then again, in a Discord server by Inibuilds, one of the people who works for them, helping to test planes in the same, said the A350 performed better than the Xbox. That still doesn’t matter because I can’t fly any large planes in general due to crashes, memory loss issues, or uncontrollable pitch-up and stalls. They should’ve never released this game on PS5 without proper testing. I got the premium deluxe version, and I can even play the game. This is so frustrating.
