RELEASED! Just Flight Bae146 "the Little Jumbojet" April 29th

I’m hoping a future update will fix how lighting status is being reported via SimConnect – currently it seems that the beacon light is reported as active only when the strobe light is on, then continuously toggles on and off throughout the flight (this is just what is shown in OnAir Company; the switches in-game function fine).

Indeed no RNAV guidance on this old aircraft.

You can ‘simulate’ one by just keeping the aircraft on LNAV for lateral guidance, and then upon reaching the fix-point at 3000 feet and about 9 miles out of the runway, manual set a v-speed of minus -800 feet. Most ILS Glideslopes are ‘about’ -800 feet, but you can scroll through -700 and -900 to catch up with it properly.

I wouldn’t do it in zero visibility with fog on the ground, but it’s a useful procedure when you’re flying through low level clouds and you’re just waiting for visual on the runway once you break though. This way the aircraft would be sort’a where you need it to be when taking over manually to land.

The MSFS beacon light variable will currently show as off when in the cockpit view but that will be fixed in the next update. I’m not aware of any other issues related to the beacons.

I laughed. But what have you done with my baggage? (left it in Dublin probably!)

On final into EGPH a few mins ago

At gate at EGPH (with no sign of baggage!)

Yeah the missing baggage seems to be a common problem in the sim.

There is no VNAV in the 146. You can only do an LNAV approach, no LNAV/VNAV or LPV. You’ll have to follow the step downs on the approach plate to an MDA.

Is there a virtual baggage claims dept?

On the PC marketplace now. £54.99, brilliant value IMO. They are however just trolling us Series X users now though

Definitely. Here’s all the aircraft you have been waiting for, but with some platform stability issues too. Maybe the WASM fix is secretly there but being tested out/monitored and its slowing the system down? The recent load of aircraft being released would certainly explain that, maybe done to test it out too?

I’ve favourited every one on the marketplace (and subsequently whimpered at what it’ll cost me haha). But yes, I would like to believe they are testing the fix and will hopefully roll it out in the coming months.

My thanks to everyone who’s reported their experiences at EIDW. As it happens, the exact same thing happened to me with the 737 this week, so definitely not specific to the 146 but definitely a problem with EIDW!

As in real life.

Nothing ‘simulated’ about that, it is how you fly an RNAV approach without vertical guidance in real life as well so it is quite realistic. That is why there are LNAV minima on the approach plates, in addition to any LNAV/VNAV or LPV minima for those aircraft that do have vertical guidance. The aircraft as equipped in the sim is perfectly capable of flying an RNAV approach.

After some hard deliberation I thought this is an ok price because it has three lenghts of the aircraft and they sell them for one price.

Did a first flight in it, it’s cool.
Feels alive just like the Arrows.
Rattles and shakes and makes noise.
Steam gauges.

A bit like a more modern version of a DC-6 with Jet engines and such.

I don’t see myself using that FMS thingy at all. Switched it off.
Was able to make a Flightplan on the Worldmap and fly it in Nav Mode just well.

But I think this will see a lot of handflying.

She’s a nice bird, I am new to it as well… but it does feel alive. The sounds are awesome too. I like the fact it will take me a long time to master a flight in it as well. I love the JF products, some of my favourites in the sim… so I don’t mind supporting them either. Always a very responsive team as well if there are any issues.

I use the 146 with Pilot2ATC and it flies Rnav approaches and ILS approaches like a dream! Pilot2ATC isn’t cheap but well worth it in my opinion, you can use voice or text which is a big plus for me!

I can’t get enough of this awesome aircraft, its just so addictive :+1: I have no notion to buy any other aircraft at this time…

Oh yes, I meant it’s a real world procedure to ‘simulate’ being on a glidepath. Only in this case, it’s all theory. Haha

Picked this beauty up from the store today. Given my mid end system I was wary it may under perform but I’m delighted with the experience so far. Weather on overcast and at a bespoke airport was still holding steady around 30fps. More than enough for a great experience. Was only a quick ready for TO flight but first impressions, this is incredible and really well optimised given it’s early days. Thumbs up just flight :+1:t2:

Hello about simconnect it seems the comm is alive with the comm panel off.
I have the ATC Chatter program, and with comm off but dial a good channel, communication is alive in this little great prog.

FAQ says the plane has to be fixed.
Thank you

Greetings All,

Apologies if this is somewhere covered in this thread or elsewhere, but a search and scanning through it and google couldn’t find anything.

My question is, the BAE 146 is coming to Xbox at some point. I play on both PC and Xbox Series X and try to buy my addons through the in game marketplace so they install to both locations (where the addons are Xbox compatible), so I have access to the addons wherever I play.

If I buy the just released Marketplace version of the 146 on PC Marketplace, will it also get me the Xbox Marketplace version when it is eventually released? Like, for example, I bought the Concorde on Xbox Marketplace, but all my addons also carry over to PC. If so, I’ll buy it today and fly the 146 on PC for now and then look forward to the Xbox version being available to download in the future.

If not though, I’ll unfortunately pass for now… but would really like to be flying it. I won’t be buying two versions of it though.

Guess my question would also carry over to the Arrows and other Just Flight planes that are in the Marketplace.

Thanks!
