If I saw it correctly, in 2024 there is only one general setting for AI traffic. This seems to contain air, road and ship traffic.
If I turn the option off, because I get my AI air traffic from Beyond ATC or FSLTL, this means I probably won’t see ship and road traffic?
Why not separate the options? If it is how it seems to be now, this would mean I still would have to use the GAIST addon (global AI ship traffic) which I thought would be obsolete now.
Sorry for the kind of speculative nature of this post, but I have not been able to do a single flight yet thanks to the great servers and the innovative streaming concept.
I have problems with the new shipping traffic on smaller rivers (flying ships and ships that are too big) and wanted to switch this off separately. Unfortunately not currently possible.
I remember seeing the options in a Tech Alpha video:
The only way to have live ship traffic in 2024 is to also have live air traffic.
Well I use my own AI aircraft injectors, so I have to disable the default live traffic so I don’t get overlaps, but that also disables live ship traffic which I want to see.
So it would be nice if those two options were seperate.
On top of what already is mentioned I may add that it would be splendid to also separate static aircraft from the “Traffic Airport Quality” selector like how it was handled on MSFS 2020.
Currently when turning it “off” it will remove all roaming vehicles and static aircraft.
While the random static aircraft often don’t make much sense (like a glider sitting on the apron of an international airport or a military Grumman E2 sitting on some random airfield) the vehicles add realism, so I simply don’t want to kill both in the same step
In addition to separating the traffic type settings, it would be great if the same separation could be extended to the labels shown in the game. At times I’d like to see the surrounding air traffic labels but don’t always want to see the ship labels (which usually look pretty cluttered in harbor areas).
If you use an external connector for your AI traffic there is a way to get that and still the inbuild ship traffic. Admittedly it’s not super intuitive but it works.
You just leave the AI live as you normally would, but put the Traffic Airport Quality and Air Traffic to off under the Custom Graphics options. This does not affect the injectecion via external tools from what I can see, only the inbuilt AI.
