Is there something going on with the XBOX accounts.
Have been kicked out and cannot enter my email etc to log back in.
Any assistance appreciated.
Same here (MSFS PC). When I opened the Xbox I was supposed to update, but that failed. I then deleted Xbox (PC) and wanted to reinstall it (from MS Store), but it didn’t work, an error message came up. Yesterday I was able to start the FS (PC) without Xbox, today it doesn’t work anymore, only the “Gaming Service” comes up and it doesn’t go any further. So far I can’t install Xbox.

Hi there, it’s not about launching a game, it’s all about installing the Xbox app (PC). I tried installation from MS Store but error code 0x80073CF9 came up.
Right, sorry forgot to add some instructions to that reply, follow the remove and reinstall gaming services drop down. That normally has helped me clear up an oddities

I can’t remove and reinstall gaming service as it doesn’t appear in MS Store as Xbox doesn’t appear here. Meanwhile I tried “gaming service repair tool” but didn’t help either. The main issue is the MS Store. When trying to install Xbox app (Windows) from here an error message (code above) apears. Is actually anything wrong with the Xbox server?
Not that I can see, the store/app on my PC and console are currently working fine

Start from step one where it has directions to launch powershell as administrator. Powershell is in a sense a terminal that you can use to manage your system by command line.
Use the website to copy and past the commands if ya don’t feel like retyping those
Having a think about it, I don’t think the issue is Xbox as I am not able to log into my Microsoft account when launching flightsim.
When the Xbox screen appears saying ‘sign in’ it takes me to the Microsoft account sign in page.
Here I have issues entering my email and password, no flashing cursor hence I cannot enter anything.
So, if you or anybody else hasd any ideas, I would be most grateful.
Hmmm, so maybe let’s try signing in through a different flow. Are you signed in on the Xbox App on PC? Try to do that and launch the sim (if this is for 2020, if it’s for 2024 you might only be able to check once the stub updates with the release code).

I was watching a Youtube videos by FlyBy Simulations and found the solution to the issue.
One was to go to windows screen instead of full screen mode, didn’t work.
The second was to unplug all my peripherals, thankfully they are all attached to a powered usb hub.
This solved the issue and I was able to signin.
Again thanks to all for suggestions and advice.
same problem with msfs 2020 on pc. Removed yoke, restarted, still can’t get it to type in the box. this has NOT been solved. it’s 6/2025
