I would like to set up the lever from the (right) flaps Add-On of the Thrustmaster TCA Throttle Quadrant for the condition lever of the Kodiak.
Does someone has an idea for a satisfying solution?
Either with the in-game control settings or with Spad.
I think I spent already hours experimenting, but no success…
I’m not using that device, but my setup is very simple.
I still use the exact same axis as I do for piston aircraft. The difference is that different positions on the axis will lead to either High idle, low Idle, or cutoff. As I advance the physical level forward from its cutoff point, through the idle point, because all 6 levers have an “idle” detent on the TQ6+, and a little further forward from that the VC lever will jump to Low Idle. If I advance it further forward than that it jumps to High Idle. I took an image of the physical position once, and marked where the changes occurred so I will try to find that.
I would imagine that on a scale of 100-0, full forward back to maybe 100-70 is high idle, 70-40 is low idle, and 40-0 is cutoff.
The other solution is to use a vJoy virtual device - you bind the MSFS mixture lever (the Kodiak uses ‘mixture’ events for the condition lever, not ‘condition’) to buttons on the vJoy device. And then you can use SPAD to set axis positions to trigger those buttons.
Best place to get help is the SPAD Discord.
I tried to avoid using buttons for actions for as much as possible. So I can control reverse thrust with axis only by using the “Neutral” position in the sim. And for prop feathering I use SPAD to detect when the prop lever is fully after, then feather the prop for me. Both work really well.
It was the only solution for a while when Asobo introduced condition specific events and the condition axis didn’t work! Never effected the Kodiak as it doesn’t use those events.
My take on reverse thrust is that when I need it, I always want ALL of it. So a button for max reverse is fine. Being able to control Beta on an axis is however much more useful

Thank you all for your replies, I will keep on trying

Yes, the mixture axis it is.
I should have asked earlier
The strange thing, that lead me on the wrong path, was, that in SPAD I found a SWS LVAR variable dedicated to the condition lever.
0 for Cut Off,
1 for low idle and
2 for High Idle.
That variable is changing accordingly when I move the lever in-game.
But when I try to manipulate that variable via SPAD by assigning buttons or an axis to it, the lever just moves a bit and will not remain in one of the three correct positions.
That‘s what kept me trying for so long without ever thinking it could be another axis (mixture).
Still strange, that condition lever variable.

It might be there for future implementation.

For me the Kodiak is too sensitive (ailieron, elevator, …) is there a way to adjust the config file to reduce the sensive?
Just change it in the SIM. It’s a more effective way of doing it.
options > controller> select your control device and whatever profile you have set up for the Kodisk. > sensitivety settings
But yes, the Kodiak can be too sensitive in the pitch for most contollers. The elevator needs a curve and the reactivity dialed down. The rudder also needs reduced reactivity. Ailerons work well with a straight line on the Barvo, but may need a curve on other controllers. It very much depends on what device you use.
I’m using the controller from Honeycomb and already with the curves and sensitivity for elevator and ruder,
But still not happy, that’s the reason, why I mostly take the Caravan (Asobo and Blacksquare)
Ok. I use the HC Bravo and have no problems flying the Kodiak with that. It flies true to life from as best I can tell and is relatively much more agile than the C208 and the King Air. The C208 in particular flies a bit like a brick (the BS mod is cockpit only AFAIK, not flight model).
As to altering values in the .cfg. I can’t say - there are so many variables that it would have to be done with great care.
Could you please provide your Honeycomb Sensivity Settings
Sure, they are in this tutorial video

Thanks, I know these tutorials. They were my trigger to try again to fly the Kodiak.
Hope more will follow.

I confirm that this model is fantastic and in this period everything runs fine with the sim, I’m on xbox s, an anomaly but maybe I’m wrong, the taxi speed remains high, you have to brake often
When I have time! They take a fair amount of effort to make and life has been busy recently.
Question for you guys.. I seem to have lost my blue dotted line heading indicator on the MFD in the Kodi. I could have sworn it was there before. For example here it is in the Caravan, it only shows up while turning the heading bug and then disappears a few seconds later.
Is there an option to shut it off that i may have selected by accident? I cant find it anywhere.
EDIT- i got it back by going into HDG UP mode… is this by design or a bug?
