Taog's Hangar Bell UH-1H & Bell 205 (Released)

The camera shakes in that video are the typical VR headset wobble. It has nothing to do with the Huey.

That RC Huey is cool!

I just did a little excursion to the Sequoia National Forest. Just a pleasure to fly and great sound!

Unfortunately that cool lookout tower doesn’t exist anymore in real life. It was destroyed in a fire in 2011. There are even photos of the burning tower:

If I could name me as old pilot,

my child times here in Europe heart country were every time joined with 3 US helos - B205, B206 and OH6A.

Using the Honeycomb Alpha/Bravo I’m having problems with the rudder trim. Unable to make it fly straight. It want’s to turn right constantly.
Other helos, same setup no problems.
Using Thrustmaster rudder pedals, no issues in other helos or aircraft. Any ideas? Thanks.

It’s yawing right due to the main rotor torque. You need to apply left pedal.

I knew everyone was going to really enjoy this. The first flight I took in the beta had me so excited. I picked up and did a pedal turn and it started to sink and I was like “hell yeah” this is going to be good

I did a quick first test with the civilian Bell 205.
While everything seemed to work fine and I could fly around, I noticed a few things that puzzled me:

1- the main warning light would no go off, even with resets, despite no warnings displayed on the pedestal

2- the throttle would not go back to 0%, it was having like a limit around 20% or so
(no axis assigned, and reacting properly to mouse scrollwheel).

3- the wipers move but they have no effect on the water drops on the windshield

Other than that, I like it a lot.

You need to push the reset switch forward towards the main panel to extinguish the master caution light. Pulling it backwards towards the center pedestal only does a light test.

The throttle is guarded to prevent accidental fuel cut off. The guarded idle stop is at 25%. In order to fully roll back the throttle you need to press the button in the lower right on the top of the collective first.

This is known. It takes extensive custom coding and Taog didn’t want to hold up the release. It’s stated in the discord that this will come in a future update.

i have it,i love it

Finally, a great helicopter that works without assistance, just like a real helicopter that responds to the pilot’s control and doesn’t go haywire!

The FlyInside Bell 207 has entered the chat
Bell 207: Whoa, whoa
 whaddaya mean “finally”?! :interrobang:

The Miltech Chinook has entered the chat
Chinook: What?! Am I choppe(r)d liver over here?! :rage:

Those aren’t the only two

The Huey flies differently, like it should, from the tandem rotor or fully articulated ships out there. However, the Cowansim products, HPGs helis, Taog’s other helis and the Got Friends mini 500 also fly really well and like helicopters should.

The Huey has the most complete experience of the helis using the native FM though. Which it should, being the newest and using the gained knowledge of the sdk up to this point

Thanks, at least there’s nothing wrong with my setup. Don’t fly helos much but I couldn’t resist this one! Now where’s the miniguns and The Ride of the Valkyries by Wagner?

Excellent question. This product is sold outside of the MP, it has weapon mounts you can install, however there is no option to mount any weapons, and the few times it’s been asked on the Discord get ignored.

I guess the Blackbird Huey will have a leg up in that regard.

If they cancelled their ATR because of the Asobo one I really don’t know how they are proceeding ahead with a Huey having this. The ATR has a larger market than helis (I think) and there are a lot of things they could have done better than the default version. But what can I know? They released a meh Texan for the price of an airliner so they must have their ducks in the right places

I’ve done a few hours in Huey’s in RL (low level army work) and jumping out of them from height and I give the audio especially in this 3 thumbs up. THWACK!

I couldn’t care less about the lack of weapons. This isn’t DCS, and anything they could do would be pretty lame anyway in MSFS. It’s the flight/audio experience that is the gold here, and Huey’s have proved their worth as much off the battlefield as on it.
