This is how MFS 2024 runs on Series X

In what parallel universe, exactly?

I have the LG C2, I turn off game mode on the TV because I find its better (smoother) without it. Turn it off in the XBOX settings and see how that works.

Wow. I hope the marketing team just made that up, because that may be false advertising. I am fairly confident Xbox is capped at ~30fps just like MSFS 2020, and it’s lucky to even reach that in many cases.

With a 120hz monitor the framerate is not locked at 30 fps, it’s up to 120 fps. It works just like MFS 2020.

This is true but an advertising directly from Microsoft with 60fps badge is ridiculous, I don’t remember a 60fps badge for 2020

It’s quite confusing because there’s no such a thing like a 60 fps mode, but eventually an uncapped framerate mode. Which is quite different and it requires a monitor which supports 120 hz ( and VRR if you want a better experience overall ). There’s no even an option in-game ( there are a lot of Xbox players that doesn’t know that ) nor it’s clear how the dynamic settings work if you’re using the 120hz mode. The framerate target is still 30 ? 60 ?

Even if the target frame rate was 60 FPS, there’s no way an Xbox console is going to achieve that at a constant frame rate. Not at 4K resolution, that’s for sure. It could definitely do it somewhere between 30 and 60 though. But there are even PC users out there who struggle to achieve 60 FPS at 1080p at Ultra settings with the latest RTX cards (i.e. 4080). But the way they are marketing it, sounds like the sim would be fixed at a constant 60FPS at 4K resolution. Under all circumstances, whether GA or larger passenger/cargo jets. Which is impossible.

What has suddenly happened to the performance on Series X? I could swear about 2-3 days back it was running perfectly fine all over the map with no pauses, micro freezes or stutters. Now it is giving me fps hiccups almost everywhere. I had to delete RC and keep it off to get the smoothness back but now the ground textures when flying at different altitudes don’t look as sharp or load late. I’m on a 100/MB fiber connection so that’s definitely not the issue.

I’ve just purchased MSFS 2024 and had a quick play with it. I knew about the reported bugs and unhappiness with the release before purchasing but I know that MS/Asobo will fix it and I know that it will be my favourite game / SIM at some point.

I can 100% see the potential and direction that 2024 provides but have switched back to 2020 for regular sessions until they sort out the basic bugs, usability and support for my favourite marketplace planes.

I know many of you feel differently and I understand that too. MSFS may be one of the most complex undertakings for a development team to build but they should have delayed until the basics were in place.

I guess there were internal and marketing timing factors also in the release consideration. Let’s hope that they get the basics sorted soon.

Completely agree with this. Very hard time, I haven’t been able to sim for weeks, but I believe it’s a question of time till it delivers on very promising improvements.

This is a prime example of when marketing teams don’t talk to actual game experts.

Χbox series X. Free flight from LGIR-LGTS A320 inibuilds with live weather and traffic. After the last update, I’m sure that the sim is on the right way!! Everything was smooth and very detailed!! I also used the replay tool after the landing without visual or sound problems!! Please fix the problem with the mouse

Please just look at the mountains in your screenshot. It is everything but very detailed.

Yeah, blurry textures resembling X360 era.

Might as well play Jet Set willy in 4k 60fps, ms2024 is a shambles of a release.

For some reason, on Series S this patch seems to have improved things. I’ve been able to (finally) use the Airbus planes without a freeze and CTD. I wondered why Asobo didn’t make a song and dance out of such a massive performance improvement, there’s the answer I guess

Because the history of MFS 2020 on console teach us that every ounce they add in performance/stability comes at the cost of ten lb. of graphic.

Yes… and even if we pay the same price, we don’t receive the same product

Isn’t this misleading advertising?

It just means that it can deliver up to 60fps, which I’m sure at times it can.
Games that are optimized for Xbox X/S have ways to boost frame rates , load times and other tricks to make things run smoother with better visuals. MSFS2020 never had the ā€œOptimizedā€ label as it was not designed for Xbox. MSFS2024 was and has this designation.
Of course this might take the developer team a few years to really take advantage of the features. Usually games get better as they go on Xbox.

So we get what we get for now with a hope things will improve? I personally have gone back to FS2020 until a few patches.
