I agree… When I am doing “serious” flying, I will fly online on the VatSim network and turn off gamer-tags. That way I only see close by aircraft that are also on the VatSim Network… If I want to “screw” around (or conduct group flights), then I go into multi-player and turn gamer-tags back on. I’ve flown well over 2000 hours in this sim, and even when in multi-player in my 737 or Chancellor when I see someone “escorting me”, I smile think about how great this is, and then ignore them. If the TCAS acts up, then I hand-fly the aircraft…
I honestly don’t see the big deal. I think some people just need to get over themselves. Sorry if this offends

I love getting buzzed by other people. Except when i spill my coffee as a result of said flyby:
I noticed that a lot of people seem to not like when you fly close to them. When I want to practice formation flying and don’t have another person to practice with, I follow commercial flights. Those are generated from real live traffic and there is no one there to care about it.

I think you mean set to “OFF”
I have mine set to OFF and I very rarely see the MSFS F18’s, I see some designated as F18’s but they mostly appear to be a jetliner going supersonic and doing rolls…
I have NO Addons.
Chances are they’re not using the default, but 3rd party model. Since you don’t have that exact plane, you’re seeing the “best” model match as an airliner (dual engine jet).

Good Point…I suppose when the sim gets a bit more stable, I will have to get some 3rd party models.
Technology advances …
I just took delivery of an Ultra Stealth F18, and now all F18’s in “GA My world” have been swapped out with this stealth model.
I have one of them in my Hangar now – can you spot it !!!

And I get enjoyment out of making sure I enjoy the game, and its just as easy to make provoking poster “INVISIBLE” in my Forum screen, as it is to make unwanted F18s disappear in my Hangar.

I like when someone is in a helicopter (obviously) and you have a Bonanza generic hovering, pirouetting slowly and setting down on the tarmac.

I wish there was a middle ground between the unusable anarchy of MP and vatsim. Especially for VFR.

Personally I love the madness of a places like KLAX on multiplayer and watching people do crazy stunts that often go very wrong ,the only thing I would maybe like introduced is a time limit of say 30 seconds max of not moving when you have entered an empty runway for departure,and if you exceed that time you become invisible to others temporarily.This will stop queues of the more polite types like me who try to wait a while before plowing through the hesitating aircraft in front.
Players should not be able to spawn on a active runway they should spawn holding short of it, But saying that that will still just go right onto it anyway if there not using ATC the right way.

Spawn short, what like they’ve done all the way back in FS8->FSX (maybe even earlier my memory dont remember back that far)…Thats just crazy, gamers cant be expected to know how to taxi 10’ and line up with a runway… Bwehahahahahahhah!
