I’m having trouble starting the ATR in cold weather, specifically in Alaska. I’m able to get external power set up, hotel mode, and anti icing. But when I then get both propellers running, I don’t have enough power to taxi and I get a bunch of warnings about icing. Generators are offline as well. I’ve tried waiting on hotel mode with de-icing on for a while. I’ve also tried running both engines for a while, but it doesn’t seem to make any difference.
Does anyone have any ideas what else I can do? Thanks you!
So maybe it is the same issue with the turboprops ?. This is the 1st topic I am seeing reporting this issue with a turboprop. Let’s see if ATRs users have the same issue or maybe can provide some guidance with starting engines in cold weather.
Is it with the ATR42 or ATR72 or both ?
Thanks for your help! I completely restarted from the free flight menu and tried everything again twice. One time I had the same issue, but the second time I was able to start up just fine. I’m pretty sure I was doing the same thing on every startup, but I’ve only just learned how to use the ATR.
