Since i am the lucky owner of the 5090FE I will test multi-monitor in 2024 soon. Curious to see the performance gains compared to the previous 4080.
Iām building a shopping list and monitors are big learning curve for me.
What size / make is everyone using for their multi-monitors?
DisplayPort or HDMI connection?
Are you doing anything to limit refresh rate to get smooth frames?
Any and all advice welcome, Iām not in a hurry as this will be an investment I hope to enjoy for a while ā¦
I use 3 x cheapo Vizio 42" 4k monitors, 2 are Display Port, 1 is HDMI. I canāt see any big difference in quality, and they work just fine for me.
Specs:
I-9 14900 CPU
64gb DDR5 Ram
2tb SSD Hard Drive
RTX-4090 Graphics Card
Can you post your in-game graphics settings you use when enabling multi monitor? And also the multi monitor settings?
I still have to test it with my 5090FE. So I can use your settings as a baseline. ![]()

I am running 3x GIGABYTE G32QC A-31,5"/OFF/QHD/165HZ/ERGO 31,5 Zoll QHD, because they are cheaper to replace
(they are mounted on a motion rig)
All 3 via Display Port, if I recall correct HDMI is limited to 120Hz
Specs:

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 24GB
Iām running FS24 on a two monitor setup with Samsung G9 Neo Odyssey 57" 1000R curved as primary display (5120x1440px) and a BenQ EW3270U 32" as secondary display (1920x1080px). The seconday display is physically located on top of the primary display and angled about 45° towards me. For C172 it displays nothing more than the cockpit roof. In a 737MAX it shows the overhead console(s). In a F/A-18 it shows the sky. With both displays running I get 45-50fps. With lots of detail it sometimes drops to about 35fps. Good enough for me
My System: Intel(R) Core⢠i9-14900K, 64GB RAM, GeForce RTX4070 Ti Super 16GB VRAM, FS24 installed on a 2TB M2 SSD
I have got a short question regarding multi monitor setup.
I do run triple screens and it does work so far. My only issue is I have to create 3 additional windows.
My setup looks like this:
Main game window: Resolution 2560 x 1440
Under Advanced Options:
Window 1: Resolution 2560 x 1440, Lateral rotation offset 92
Window 2: Resolution 2560 x 1440, Lateral rotation offset -92
Window 3: Resolution 2560 x 1440, Lateral rotation offset 92
If I only create 2 additional windows, window #1 does change the zoom level now and then. This said the alignment is no longer given. As soon as I add a 3rd window this one does keep the zoom level and everything is fine. I just keep the window #1 behind window #3.
I do not know the reason for this. And on top am I the only one with this issue?
My system can handle this additional window but I would feel more comfortable to avoid this.
So if I am running a triple monitor setup then I am not getting frame gen across all three monitors? What is my best way to work around this? Iām getting about 50 FPS with autofps right now.
@Rivanov did you get your frame rates back? If so, what was the solution?
No work around as far as I know. Outside of using NVSurround to create one desktop, you canāt get frame generation (through either NVIdia FG or Lossless Scaling) to work on more than one rendered game window.
What Iāve elected to do us use smooth motion on my monitors (which are 48" OLEDs). This has a similar effect to frame generation but is done at the TV level as opposed to the graphics card. This probably wonāt be an option if your using a regular PC monitor, but it works well for me to improve the smoothness.
I generally aim to maintain 30 FPS when running three rendered windows. Thats usually possible. Then using image smoothing it adds additional frames to improve smoothness up to 60 FPS.
Right now basically my front monitor is using framegen and the two sides are not? Is that why the side monitors seem so off and stuttering a bit? If thats the case, what is the point of having multiple monitors?
Iād say so - And if youāre setup is anything like mine, turning on Frame Generation and using it on the main monitor (which is the only place it will work) has put on an additional CPU&GPU load which results in poorer results on the side monitors.
I wish there was a way to get frame generation across all three monitors but if there is, Iāve yet to see it (unless you choose to use Surround and its stretched fish eye view).
You can. Just not on MSFS. Frame gen can run in more than one window simultaneously, but the way Asobo has implemented FG in MSFS doesnāt allow it. That was confirmed by NVIDIA a while ago, I believe IIRC.
Iām trying to find a way to use my two monitors so they show me one large cockpit. The monitor on the left shows the left view and the pilotās seat, with the right monitor showing the right view and the copilot. So I can see one large cockpit. However, I havenāt figured out how to do it yet. I can fly on one monitor and place things like Navmap on the other. Any help?
Same here. Iād rather use both monitors. But most aircraft cockpits just arenāt adjustable enough to make that work.
The thing is, plenty of people have their monitors set up so they can fly with two, three or more monitors. I just wish they made a tutorial on how to do it. The ones on YouTube are useless.
i do the same thing and it is very good
