It seems to me that the visibility is simply unlimited. Everywhere, all the time. Unless I’m inside a cloud, I can see to the horizon. Humidity slider on weather panel does nothing, under any weather preset. For all I’ve seen in the video on youtube, it is the same for everyone, just nobody seems to have noticed yet.
I had a look at Dubai this morning and the situation is pretty much the same as the real weather, with low visibility and haze. Pretty nice actually!
Have you tried other locations with real world weather?
Talking about Dubai, I am glad to report that ORBX Dubai scenery for MSFS works well in FS2024.
I have moved across the world trying to find some spots with low visibility … and I found some places … but it was clearly clouds starting from the ground. It seems the live weather has different parameters for every height.
But if you try to do the same using manual cloud layer, the lowest density possible is 0.05, which is still quite dense fog. Way denser than what live weather can do.
IMHO they changed the life weather system, and the manual weather panels didn’t caught up to it just yet.
I tried Cairo in Egypt with real world weather just 30 min ago and there was haze towards Giza pyramids and a lot of smog in the city direction. It was amazing, very realistic.
I never use manual weather BTW, probably it’s not possible to reproduce realistic visibility conditions with it.
Hi @Czunik ,
Thank you for this report. We’ve moved your topic into the User Support Hub.
The Bug Reporting Hub is for posting suspected or confirmed bugs that other users are able to reproduce without duplicating an existing bug report. Using the template or providing all the relevant information about your bug and sim setup is required in order to provide valuable information, feedback, and replication steps to our test team.
If you are not sure if your issue is a bug or need further input from the community, please use the User Support Hub category. If the community can replicate your issue, first search the Bug category to see if there’s an existing topic. If it already exists, contribute to that report. Duplicate bug reports will be closed.
If you believe it is a new report and no duplicate exists, then create a new bug topic using the provided topic template.

This has been a problem since day one of MSFS2020.
Later METARs were introduced, but outside the METAR circles there is still unlimited visibility.
In my experience this has not been solved in 2024 either, there is still unlimited visibility outside METAR circles.
I’m not talking about live weather though … I’m talking about manual weather. In 2020 humidity ( I think it was also named aerosol one time) slider changes visibility drastically. In 2024 it does nothing.
I’m still with 2020, but if MSFS 2024 doesn’t translate the so-called “humidity” setting into some lowered visibility, then this is a major problem IMO.
For being a pilot IRL, I always felt that without the effect of this parameter, manual weather implies a very unrealistic visibility (at least in my region it is very rarely unlimited ).
Beside that, I have the feeling that unlimited visibility is not only unrealistic, but also bad looking, and maybe leads to worse performances because there is more to render…
However with real weather it seems that the visibility is better handled (I suspect that there is some logic in it which is not reproductible with manual weather).
No, this has been a problem since they removed the aerosol slider a few month after release of 2020 and replaced it with the humidity slider.
Initially after release the aerosol slider worked perfectly and you could get fantastic results in combination with clouds.
But for some strange reason they decided to remove that option and replaced it with a non-working one.
So it’s also problem in 2020 ? I have uninstalled it, so I can’t check … well … in that case we can’t really hope for quick fix … bummer …
Please vote for this topic. Let’s get enough votes for this to feature on the top wish list
The humidity slider works in msfs-2020 whereas it does not work in msfs-2024 (see report Humidity slider in custom weather not working)
What is saying @WeamDreaver is that the humidity slider in msfs-2020 does not have the same impact on the visibility than the aerosol slider had when the sim was released. The aerosol slider has been replaced by the humidity one in a later sim update.
See related topic: Where is the Aerosol Density slider gone?
I got the sim to show me some quite low visibility when i moved three cloud layers over each other on ground level.
I was actually surprised because I have never seen it that low in 2020
Well, I think the humidity slider never worked for me back in 2020. It was one of the reasons I got frustrated because every weather setting had unlimited visibility and live weather was hampering the performance.
For me humidity works in FS2020 custom weather, you can see a difference when moving the slider. In FS2024 you don’t see any difference in custom weather when moving that slider. Maybe with Live weather, even if a value exists in the debug window, it is not used, like for the visibility value in the debug window, even if a value is there in Live weather, it is not impacting what you are seeing.
