What did you do in MSFS today? (Part 1)

Yes it was!

This Kodiak aircraft truly has immense potential, and is a must-have for every adventurous cargo and bush pilot just like the Milviz Porter and the PMDG Cloudmaster.
But the Kodiak 100 also fully depends and stands or falls with the Garmin 1000 NXi mod.
The Garmin 1000 has a similar weather radar than the Garmin 3000 mod for the Daher TBM 850:

The Garmin 1000 also has a horizontal weather radar that can be implemented as overlay over the map:

The map on the Garmin 1000 also looks like the map on the Garmin 3000, with names of streets countys cities etc. and not only a blue and black silhouettes of the landscape / or topography height map and nothing else to choose from.

Everything 3D-model wise is absolutely beautyfully crafted and super detailed. But I miss the bear paw design on the doors, visible here (and in all other Bushpilot videos) that is missing in the SWS Kodiak:

And here are some screenshots from my last island flight, the boxes are fully loaded with finest coconut liqueur, Baileys, coconut milk, sweets, and other goodies…

By the way in one of the Bushpilot videos he said that he needs maximum right rudder trim before take-off, while for me 7° is enough and after take-off the rudder trim must be set to zero otherwise the airplane is flying sideways to the right even with only 2-3° and constantly banking.
There really must be some way to finally get this rudder and rudder trim and torque correctly simulated  because the actual patched flight dynamics does not seem to be correct either.

Vancouver to Kelowna and down to Seattle. First time at Seattle. Lots of traffic there with all the simmers in that area.

 To my ears this sounds like a real Airline Pilot complaining about us Sim Pilots. Too much traffic…get rid of the Simmers  Well done :+1::smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

LOL! I guess I am although I’ve never even been in a plane yet flying since the 90’s so full on simmer. Love seeing people out there. The more the merrier.

DA62 Travel Tales

My sister and I.
She runs our business and I fly around the World. A nice arrangement, me thinks.
Anyhow, I had her fly our DA62 to Penang (she needed the exercise). My travel route now leads me into areas where I need something bigger, faster, going higher and having a longer range than the DA40NG.
The drawback is of course; the DA62 is no Bush-plane. So I will ship my Cub ‘Floaty Fly’ to Africa, switching aircraft when I get there. Does anyone else name their plane? Yes I know…I am weird.

Took a brief spin around the new freeware WWII-era NAS Midway Island scenery released yesterday over on Flightsim.to. Gorgeous place to zip around in our period-era warbirds.

Hi all, i was trying the @swiss001 landing challenge, to make a butter landing… i also create a custom livery for him :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

What do you think about?

Hope you enjoy,
Sincerely,

Blue Sky Twins.
Penang Intl (WMKP) to Chumphon (VTSE), via Langkawi Intl (WMKP) and Surat Thani (VTSB).

Sometimes I like to fly low (weather permitting). Of course, one needs to watch the speed humps (called mountains).

Sometimes I like to go high, claiming my place in the sunshine.

Sometimes I dream of buying an Island.

In the end…sigh…it is always back to reality and its business.

Welcome to Thailand :+1:

started the flight like this and ended up like that:

And this morning by the light of the slivery moon:

The night pictures are nice… The others give me the creeps. I greatly dislike overcast weather and snowy whiteness. However, blue sky and snow are alright with me :+1:

Good Morning One and All !
After spotting this latest Livery for the Kodiak,…
https://flightsim.to/file/25396/ravn-alaska-kodiak
,… We thought to take it for a Flight in Alaska and where else to go but Sergio’s wonderful rendition of Barrow.
This Airport has as not yet been UpDated but we gave it a go and there appears to be no issues with what we have always concidered to be one of our favourite places to Fly.

Errmm,… That other Kodiak is a long way from Home.

Oh we nearly forgot ! ,… Happy New Year and Safe Landings.

Testing the icing system with the CRJ. Just like in the Kodiak (or every other airplane) there is no icing whatsoever present in my sim.

The flight system of the CRJ is absolute WONDERFUL! A MASTERPIECE! Finally a airliner that feels realistic and an airliner that does not feel like it can be shot up to 40.000 feet almost vertically like it was some F-16, but behaving realistic and being in need of enough airspeed and AOA to generate lift or being unable to climb. And having realistic airliner turbines instead of rockets mounted. Realistic turbines being in need of some seconds to spool up instead of delivering 100% thrust the same second I give full-throttle… aw what a pleasure to fly  The CRJ is the first airliner who finally delivers flight dynamics realism.

The flight model of the CRJ is truly superb! But there is no icing on any of my airplanes anymore.

The most beautyful aircraft ever designed.

Also no landing and not many cockpit screenshots, I was just taking off to test if there is any aircraft icing left in the simulator for 40 minutes or so in various weather conditions. The answer is no, not in my version - I don´t have icing effects anymore in my simulator. Not on the plane the wings and also not on the windows.

That’s a cool undertaking - visiting the photogrammetry cities. As for my journey, I suppose the thing I was most astounded by is the pure immensity of this program. From the endless places to visit, and fun of flight simulation in general, to the weather and winds, the astonishing skies and clouds and sunsets and rainbows and thunderstorms, to the ATC, to the lighting and atmospheric effects - I mean the list just goes on and on. As for landmarks and POI, I frequently noticed a bridge or a building I found interesting and then went and looked at satellite photos to learn what it was (like when I landed at Lynchburg, VA and noticed the “LU” on the stadium where the “Flames” play. A program with that level of detail is immensely satisfying to explore. I plan to continue doing so! I’ll give you a shout-out on my next video…

I have exactly the same issue with the CRJ, it just does not ice up, I also thought it was an issue with my sim but as soon as I switched to other aircraft it is fine.

Not noticed it with the Kodiak though, like you say, I’ll have to test that.

Today I got icing in the HPG H145, so it definitely works.

Currently en route to Fossil Bluff Field Station to check out the runway there, as its big enough for a DC6. Unfortunately Sky-Blu is not suitable as its way too lumpy and I don’t have an aircraft with the range that has skis…

This helicopter is absolutely superb. If anyone reads this and was on the fence or thinking about giving them a try (its the first one I have flown), give this one a shot, it is so good. I can’t wait to try it in VR sometime.

Doing the same, using Grand Tour Flight Planner. Started at Augusta, ME. Now at Logan. Short hops in my 172.

Ah so the icing problem is a CRJ bug? Interesting I never thought about that, I always fly the CRJ in Canada or Alaska, or the PMDG Cloudmaster somewhere around in tropical islands to deliver coconut rum to islanders, and haven´t tried any other airplane for weeks in cold weather

Just look at her. Absolute gorgeous! She looks like a something in between a concept art airplane William Lear would have loved, a Tomahawk cruise missile, and the Leonardo FlyTheMaddogX

And this is the most beautyful livery ever.

You’re going to do a 50 state tour in a 172? Awesome! Big respect. I did mine in the Longitude - so I finished in 70 days. Be careful when you get to the Rockies!

Tour of Seattle. All good until ATC got me mixed up with someone else. I didn’t realize my call sign switched on final until I was told to exit the runway but was quite confused.
Then they told me to hold while taxiing. I did and my nose gear broke when I hit the brakes, or sunk. At least it held for the landing.

I like to fly around 5-6 thousand, so I’ll have to thread my through. Should be fun.
