Did a short domestic flight in VATSIM from Bromma (Stockholm) to Visby on the island of Gotland in the ATR with the correct BRA livery. It doesn’t get more realistic than this.
Today I practiced for the Reservoir Run that @cyclicalobsessv has organized.
I flew this twice:
- Once with @cyclicalobsessv to get a “feel” for flying this route, (and learned how to create a “flight plan” in World View).
- Once by myself, with Live Weather and Real Time turned on. I was wondering, “Why isn’t this stinkin’ airplane going where I point it!!!” Then it struck me - wind! A ten knot wind doesn’t seem like much, but it isn’t negligible either.
Then. . .
I went and wiped the sweat off my palms. Actually made a couple of pretty good landings on the reservoir except the second time I got my nosewheel stuck in the mud when I tried to climb onto the beach.
Havana José Martí International (MUHA) to Miami International (KMIA) in the HondaJet
DVALL3 arrival is kind of vague and some how the FMS had some loops in the flight plan around Miami, so my top of descent was really close to Miami. Once I realised my mistake, I decided to do a large orbit to loose all that excess altitude, but once a domino falls it pulls down the rest of them too, so even though I managed to get down from FL350 to 3000’ for the iaf I forgot to arm approach mode and was past the faf when I realised this second error and turned off AT and AP to land manually. This in turn ended in a ballooned landing…
And to top it off I forgot to set nVidia ingame overlay audio to my headset, so none of my voice was recorded on the video, so I just scrapped it.
Flying from PVG - HND on JAL 777-300er.
Time to test my limits with the AS-33 Me – how high could I get using only thermals? Chose Luis Eduardo Magalhães Airport (SBSV – Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, roughly at sea level), Floyd’s thermals (harder), went back to summer (January 21st), set temperature at 35ºC and soared until I gave up at 5,580m (18,300ft). After climbing to the TOP (top of patience), headed north along the sea shore, adjusted to above 160Km/h and had a lunch (in real life, no board service on a glider). Corrected the heading from time to time and got back to the seat when 700m high, already at Sergipe state. Managed to get to the state capital, Aracaju, but had to land at the beach. If I had had enough patience to get 100m higher or starved to death but maintaining the course, I would have reached SBAR.
Soaring over Salvador.
Fluffy carpet.
When I first saw it at distance, I thought I could not manage to go to the other side of the river.
No way to arrive at the airport. Heading to the beach.
Good day to have a sea bath!
Almost touching.
“Sierra Wisky Tango, contact ground.”

Fortunately, nobody went to the beach in such a hot summer day!
Landed at the beach, 4,471m from the nearest airport.
Flight Path, 250Km straight from SBSV to landing. The flight lasted 3h12.
I did a short hop from Munich to Prague in the morning and then I started practicing helicopters. Got the hang of the Bell 407 rather quickly. Would like to use Helis to explore cities I visit, even though the close up scenery is horrendous.
Alfonso Bonilla Aragon International (SKCL) to La Florida (SKCO) in the Albatros
Full video later here:
I tried to remedy my microphone being too quiet, but sadly turning things up hade a side effect of a lot of breathing sounds
I flew this multiple times with the V-22 Osprey to take screenshots and video clips, it’s hard enough when you’re just trying to dodge the mountains at 200 ft
This is the mission:
In the middle of a flight from Prague to Vienna.
Will probably just fly a chopper in Vienna afterwards.
A little bit of dangerous plane spotting. LOL
Today I watched the midnight sun not managing to fully hide below the horizon, flying live time and live weather though northern Sweden. In VR. I’m stunned.
So, I had some stuttery moments during that Spit flight over Normandie, so I turned off all the scenery. Then, stutters in an H145 over Liverpool/Manchester area. So, I played with my graphics and cache settings and things improved. So, I reinstalled the freeware in both areas, eliminating older stuff. Things are working better. So this was the Normandie test from Rouen to Cherbourg.
Copenhagen Kastrup (EKCH) - Berlin Brandenburg (EDDB) in the HondaJet:
There was an awesome amount of traffic online at Copenhagen, I’ve never seen so many airplanes at one place in MSFS. Of course it was by no chance, seeing that Copenhagen and Denmark had all stations manned from clearance delivery all the way up to area control. Some even had more of them, there were two tower frequencies online and four approaches. I never had so much fun waiting in a line. Sadly I wasn’t so lucky with Berlin: When I took off Berlin and northern Germany had many controllers online too, but as I was flying towards Berlin they all went one by one offline, so I flew the second half of the flight on unicom.
Landing wasn’t the best, but okayish, however I really liked that I had two planes landing on the same runway befor me and there was a third one coming in behind me, so evben without ATC online Berlin had some traffic. Video later here:
Legs 5 and 6 of Norway bush trip in WBSim C172 with real weather. ENBR ENSG
ENAL
So far I was lucky with nice VFR conditions.
Tail end of the flight from Monument Valley (UT25) over to Telluride (KTEX). Next time I might try making my turn from another 1-2000 feet high so I can have a longer final. Good fun battling the wind though as it was varying direction a lot.
