What did you do in MSFS today? (Part 2)

A humble suggestion if I may:

Unless it’s painfully obvious, (like a 747, A380, or an aircraft that says “Boeing 777” all over it), would you please mention the aircraft you’re flying?

That way, those of us who don’t have all 337 million types of aircraft memorized can follow along - and maybe even try flying the beasties!

KMMH > KCRQ. In the Longitude. Nice flight over the Sierra’s into the valley, then out off the coast directly over Catalina, and back into Oceanside.

So not strictly today as it was at the weekend. The first plane I wanted now I’m on PC (to be honest really the only plane I wanted) was the Fenix. I’d bought it even before the sim had finished installing.

I was going to fly YSSY to YPAD but by the time I’d got it all set up and obtained a Qantas livery it was getting dark, so I decided to fly EGLL Heathrow to LIPZ Venice for my inaugural flight.

I love the Fenix A320, no matter where I looked in the cockpit or what weird pages I went into in the MCDU, everything was functional. The EFB is best in class IMO.

I was a bit surprised at how sparse the checklists are (doesn’t even include gear for landing?!) and the one thing that isn’t implemented is the MSFS checklist system. Fortunately I’ve flown the Asobo A320 and Inibuilds A310 enough that I think I got everything correct from memory.

Takeoff was a bit frantic as I got ECAM throttle warnings during the roll and then the flaps wouldn’t retract and autothrottle wouldn’t engage, took me a short while to get it under control. Maybe I didn’t get it in the right detent or something. After that it all went great.

I’ll have to get a bit quicker, the company chased me up about the 66 minute takeoff delay and I had to fumble some excuses…

I got my YSSY Sydney to YPAD Adelaide flight in the next day.

By then I’d got FSLTL up and running. The added realism from having a busy looking airport with real looking planes and not some pointy nosed models with a hideous livery is massive. Even at little untowered airfields it adds a few GA planes in and suddenly they look great and feel more alive too.

I had the same issue with throttle ECAM messages on takeoff again and this time I’d made sure I was in the FLX detent and had programmed a flex temperature so I’ve clearly got something to figure out there.

There was a strong crosswind on landing at Adelaide, I went manual and judging by the mud on the port wheels afterwards I clearly need to put some practice in on that.

one and half a year ago, I started msfs, while they announced the next version and when few days ago saw someone ( TenPatrol ) sharing some screen of him completing a bush trip, decided to give those activities a try and finally hit my 1st percent in that category by reaching the middle of the patagonian tour ( doing SCID → SCNT ! )

I will try to do all bush flights to complete this section before the release of the msfs 2024 …

then this evening flew a bit with friends doing vor to vor KPDT KBOI via KBKE

After my recent struggles in high densitiy altitude at Big Bear Lake, I made a second attempt to kick off my water bodies tour.

I learned that I can use Skydolly’s Location module to essentially start cold and dark anywhere. Float plane pilots, look here: Sky Dolly v0.16 - Free Flight Recorder & Replay, Location Management - #57 by Steeler2340

So I made my way up Hudson River, starting just North of NY, to be clear of their class B. I had to divert from the river just a bit near Poughkeepsie, to keep clear of their class D.

I’m using a number of bridges addons, which I found just following the river on the flightsim.to scenery map.

I’m now South of Albany, which I will circumvent also because of, you guessed it, airspace.

Hay River to Yellowknife International. Those folks at flightsim.to sure often make even the most obscure flights possible. Nice to get back into Canadian airspace.

Thanks, ‘Dan’. I see your avatar is from ‘The High and The Mighty’. Made a couple of flights in the military version, R5D.

now that I got the velocity one, I’m doing more multi-engine-fixed wing flying, so I want to get the PMDG DC6 to do a THATM flight. Still debating whether I want to do it in the dark or in daylight. Maybe KSFO-PHNL in the daylight. That was Wayne’s character, Dan Roman. I saw it on TV as a kid in the 60s and was hooked on planes. He was trying to break out of the cowboy thing. He did Island in the Sky around the same time, so there’s another flight idea.

I wouldn’t mind some R5D flight ideas from you. Message me if you like

Keep the 145 action coming, ‘Gunny’

Given the tragic current situation involving the titanic tour submersible, i got curious and made a flight plan to the wreck site. I don’t personally have any float planes capable of making the trip so i have to use a plane that i am familiar with that i know has the range. Wreck site is : 41°43′32″N 49°56′49″W.

Starting at CYYT.
Sorry no photos, my files too big and I’m not sure how else to put them up. :pensive:

Did some sightseeing around the Mississippi River Delta. With labels on, something I hadn’t done for a long time.

I did a Real Madrid Santiago Bernabéu Stadium fly over with 5 Eurofighters and then some precise flying through buildings w/o crashing.

3:22 and 4:10 mark. Possible to do with crashes on but super difficult.

Very little room for error.

Today I took my three favorite planes in MSFS up for short aerobatic flights over Goodwood.

First the Spitfire

Then the Bf-109

And last but not least the Corsair
