Exploring Northern California in the Carbon Cub. I learnt to fly in this area IRL and going there in the sim brings back nice memories!

Wishing everyone happy flights  :small_airplane:

I haven’t tried myself on London City (EGLC) for some time now, so I decided to give it a go, especially since there was decent ATC coverage on vatsim:

I just loved the clouds on this one:

Landing was rather…firm… but far from my worst at this airport.

The ski-jump at Innsbruck.

Personally I’d rather take my chances in a Lama, even if just having flown one in the sim isn’t the best possible preparation.

Notice the circle at mid-lower right? I didn’t even see it until I was editing the picture. I’ll need to go back and see if it’s a heliport.

Edit: I fell right through the building. The building is apparently a museum containing a Rundgemaelde, which if Google’s German is any good means a circular painting: that might explain the circle on the roof.

There’s a car park next door where I was able to land, so perhaps that’s where helicopters land to cart away the injured and dying.

Happiness is a well-worn copy of the Pilot’s Guide to the Bahamas, a brand new bus, 140 knots on the dial and VFR all the way to your destination.

Took the new A320neo (v2) out for a flight from Christchurch Intl (NZCH) to Wellington Intl (NZWN). I rarely fly airliners, so my flight skills in these aircraft have a lot to be desired. I was surprised I actually managed to take off & land, though the landing was not pretty :scream:

Once loaded, I opened up the checklist:

Saw the over 100 items I’d have to check before I even got the engines going, gave it some thought…
and chickened-out and hit Ctl-E! :chicken:

After getting in the air, set the autopilot & relaxed:

Arrival at Wellington. You will note that, after landing, I still have two wings, two engines, and a tail section all attached to the fuselage!

Took Air Asia Indonesia flight QZ501 from Singapore down to Bali in the FBW A32NX.

Love how all the 3rd party addons compliment each other with AI traffic from FSLTL and 3rd party scenery from Orbx/Aerosoft. Just a shame that the Singapore WSSS scenery doesn’t have a high res ground ortho to go with the airport 4D modeling!

Don’t know which is this structure, but it got my attention:

Some clouds over Tel Aviv:

Something was messed up with ILS approach (regarding altitudes), so I had to ignore ATC:

Fortunately I realised in time, so I could land softly:

Completed the Mendenhall Glacier Tour (FS2004) activity. A nice relaxing flight after several hectic ones in the DC-3. All the bells and whistles do make the scenery look good. Almost Zen like. sPK

A day in the Shetland Islands: Out Skerries (EG78) to Unst (EGPW):

Leaving EG78. It was a blustery day - not unusual in the islands. Windsock is at 90-degrees:

On the way to Whalsay. A wild & scenic emptiness:

The small town of Lerwick, sheltered from the North Sea winds by the island of Brassay:

The Broch of Mousa. A lonely outpost, seemingly at the end of the world…

A slight detour from the flightplan. On the way to Sumburgh, and squalls:

Back on track to Foula. Only 27 NM from Sumburgh, but could be in the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean. Next stop, if you were to keep heading west (and had enough fuel!): the southern tip of Greenland!

Landing at Foula. A nasty 35-knot crosswind awaits…:

End of the flight, safely parked at Unst:

The Bahamas is just amazing at 3500-7500’ MSL. Truly VFR heaven.

A short flight between Varna, Bulgaria (LBWN) to Ankara (LTAC):

So nice and uneventful flight that there is very little to report…

Except for the approach phase. Again, the problem with the ATC with altitudes made me go missed, set altitudes to my criteria, and then land…

And much better this way:
