Took the JPL 152 from Montgomery Field (KMYF) to French Valley (F70), then back again.


Love the San Diego area scenery.

I went looking for a couple of aircraft wrecks I visited in the Peak District near Hollmfirth, Yorkshire in the A2A Comanche.

I found the area of the B29 site " overexposed" the photo recon aircraft that took the pics of the Bikini Atoll hydrogen bomb tests and located it at the summit of Bleaklow Hill, due to the wear and tear of hundreds of visitors a year tramping around the site. Sadly no discernible wreckage apparent. There were lighter patches that may have been wreckage or may have been snow.

Overexposed.

Then I looked for the wreckage of two Gloster Meteors nearby. Again, correct area at Sliddens Moss, but no wreckage visible. Extensive wreckage trail spread over a mile in real life.
Leader and wingman let down through cloud thinking they were over lower ground. Unfortunately the hillside was hiding in the cloud.

2020, Vegas to London. Long Flight. Say Intentions kept centers on me properly.










My first full flight in over a month after a particularly hectic December away from the sim desk. Today’s run was just a quick low level sector from from a foggy London Luton (inibuilds scenery currently on sale!) over to Cardiff (updated in WU17) at FL160 to get myself current and try out RealAcars.

I’m hate to say it after being so hyped for FS24, but its back to MSFS for the foreseeable future for me. After several hardware upgrades throughout the last two years, I’m getting an almost perfect stutter free experience, fluid frames, crisp ground textures, with geographically correct AI, seamless Navigraph integration, awesome SimFX from //42 and a huge library of third party scenery that I’ve amassed since 2020 to choose to fly between.

IMO, if you’re flying IFR, FS24 doesn’t have anything additional to offer in its current state. REX Atmos makes up for the enhanced lighting engine, and although subjective, I think cloudscapes look and perform better in MSFS on Ultra.

This time I wanted to explore the border area between Arizona and Utah. After all rocks is where 2024 shines.

I continue to refine a ChatGPT prompt that creates a mission scenario. I don’t spawn objects. That part is left to my imagination.

I also work on my Python script that reads my position, and periodically announces the distance and rough direction until they tell me that’s where we need to find a spot to land. I focus on the flying while the voice in my ear navigates and searches the terrain.

This time we needed to find and evacuate a seriously injured hiker to Page hospital.

Full Flight - Air Taxi Service Dubai Intl (OMDB) to Burj Al Arab Helipad

Took off from Westpac Rescue Helicopter Base, Newcastle, Australia.

Went to pick up an injured hiker Northeast of Samurai Beach, somewhere between Rocky Beach and Fingal Point. A nearby group of hikers who provided first aid and alerted emergency services did a great job describing the part of the beach where we needed to go.

We needed clearance through the class C that extends from the surface up around RAAF base Williamstown, which of course we got.

Brought the patient back to John Hunter Hospital at Newcastle. It’s easy to spot since it’s located a bit elevated in a forest in New Lambton Heights.
