L08 to KPSP via the pink line. The desert scenery and clouds are soothing, and the propeller lulls me into childhood memories of camping around Borrego Springs and Ocotillo. Bit of a crosswind landing at KPSP, IRL I would most likely not be flying with quite so much crosswind. But that is why we have Flight Sim!! I am really enjoying the WBSim/JPL C152.
Reached 400 hours in my log book (although I’m actually around 500 since I lost about 100 hours of entries previously) and tried out SU 12 with an hour sight seeing tour around New York city in my good old Cessna 140.
Visited Fort Bourtange:
It was surprisingly hard to find. I wanted to find it just by flying in its general direction and looking out the window, but had to use the map in the end. Looks really cool though
Here’s also a real world photo from the web as comparison:
We departed in Ardmore, not far from Auckland, with a nice addon scenery.
Took some volunteers to Great Mercury Island, New Zealand.
They monitor the animal population. The island is currently declared “Pest free”, after wildlife population has recovered from foreign species that had been brought, and disturbed the ecological system.
I imagine they are now monitoring the situation, and visit this private owned island from time to time.
Most of the time the island is forsaken, but there is an estate that can be rented.
Bummer: They messed up the terrain. It’s 11% IRL, IIRC. – And did you spot the airport fire fighter truck they put there? ![]()

This is without the addon available. It’s archived, but I tested it afterwards, and I noticed no issues. Will keep it. Still the terrain is off.
Now I’m itching to learn how to do mesh fixes. ![]()
Flew the Airbus a321 neo from VOBL (India) to LGAV (Greece)
My latest legs see me flying from Darwin, in northern Australia, to Alice Springs, Adelaide and Melbourne in the south of the country and then to Canberra.
The landscapes of Oz are AMAZING! The colours of the the topical waters, the redness of the desert and lush greens. The weather is as dramatic as the geography. Dry and hot in Alice Springs to torrential rain in Canberra. Heavy traffic in and out of Melbourne and the ATC AI wasn’t horrible! That’s a first!
The latest update for MSFS seems to have caused some issues with the radio cutting out (only my side of the conversation is audible) and some weird scenery artifacting in the clouds. The TBM handles much better with crosswind landings after the update (Yay!). Downloaded the TBM930 user manual to follow the operating procedures as closely as possible - pretty cool and enhances the experience a lot!
Here are some pix of the colours of Oz

There was a good ATC coverage in Northern Germany so I decided to do Dortmund (EDLW) to Dresden (EDDC) in the HondaJet:
Landing got embarrassingly bumpy

I created a terrain fix for NZGR:
Wanted to do the easiest, quickest solution to make this more easy on the eyes.
DHC 4 Caribou from the Market place
Had to do a flight from Sunday, which was a community flight, again because of a well know problem.

Part 2:
Australia: Flying the Vertigo from Caloundra (YCDR) to Rockhampton (YBRK). Nice new DLC of YBRK by Rob Byrne: First time I’ve ever parked next to a fellow Vertigo pilot, …
encountered some CH-47 Chinooks then …
an RFDS hangar …
and another Vertigo (this airport seems to be Vertigo-friendly - will definitely come back) …
some military drone …
a nice terminal building …
and even some local airliners:
Subsequently took the Mini-500 …
for a quick spin over Rockhampton and Mount Archer National Park:
Famous last words by my Mini-500: When I’m grown up, I’ll look like those
:
Friday night flight from Innsbruck (LOWI) to Prague Ruzyne (LKPR). I did fly Z-5 hours though, I prefer daylight for flying:
It was busy at Innsbruck, I felt unrealisticaly good about having to wait in line ![]()
I was over FL300 by the time I made this shot, I find it really incredibly how much detail of the Munich airport can be seen from this high up.
There is a plane on very short final and another turning base, while I’m downwind.
I managed to run into the staff waiting for me, however I swear the guy behind my right wing was facepalming on my taxi skills ![]()
I even recorded this flight, will take some time to upload all 21GB of it, but if you check it out, you will see one of my smoothest landing ever.
Quick hop from Hakodate to Sapporo to check out some new photogrammetry scenery. Yup, you can land on the building tops now. Cheers!
Flew the An-225 from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California to the Shuttle Landing Facility in Florida with a cargo hold of rocket parts.
WASM on Xbox is exceptional!
The sim performed fantastic today and it was blast flying cross country.
YEAH! Six burnin’!
Flew the A318 from LGAV (Greece) to LICJ (Italy) going take a bit of a flight sim break unit the ATR is out but the route works well due to my planned long scenic route back home base (which I’m using Charlotte NC as my hq2
)
