What is something you'd want to see added that will excite your will for simming again?

I’m actually surprised there are so many people wishing for ATC.
Obviously vatsim is not for everyone, and xbox users cant make use of online atc.

but do you guys wish for ATC in a more realistic sense with AI voice?
Or ATC factoring in surrounding AI/Real time traffic while giving you instructions.
Instead of hey you are cleared to land at 16R, it gives u headings like 250 and flight level 18000 etc.
Like what would make native sim ATC meaningful for you to be content with it, like this is it i don’t wanna change anything about it anymore.

would love to hear about this.
I personally always fly in observer mode connecting to vatsim and havent tried sim atc since release.

Regional accents, vectors, 7700, proper separation.

Being able to file and fly an IFR flight plan without being given ridiculous instructions would be nice. Also AI traffic to flow with the same non-ridiculousness of behaviour and to work in with me as fellow traffic. We are a long way from this quality of ATC functionality.

Re VATSIM etc, I did this a lot back in FSX and FS9 days. Nowadays VATSIM coverage seems pretty patchy where and when I want to fly. I’d prefer inbuilt ATC with full coverage everywhere, even if it is a lesser experience than a good VATSIM controller.

with the oldest flight simulator, we were able to see a “Flight analyses” showing the landing pattern.
also, we were able to click the name on the top of the plane, a new window used to chat box opens and write messages, all in the flight simulator, that is without any other 3rd party.

I would love to see more untapped meteoblue data like air polution and stuff and weather variations.Meteoblue is such an interesting company that has ALOT of data available that can be implemented.

Can echo FinalLightNL. Due to the Canadian wildfire’s this is what my CFI and me were seeing at 1200 over Narragansett Bay (Bristol beneath us). Tower has us on a wacky pattern for 16 (she was getting overwhelmed with 2 172’s, a 152, a Southwest on a 9-mile final for 23 and a med flight trying to get over to RI hospital)

Not sure if it would be core or 3rd party, but it would be cool to support more than 1 vr headset per pc setup (PIC and first officer type configuration)

Core Sim: just better textures, it’s just awful when you want to check out an area and you see a lot of the generic offline stuff.

Guess I gotta change my answer now: Announce Flight Sim 2024 is paid DLC.

I’m excited about any and all improvements that reduce the amount of tweaking and fiddling required to make it run smoothly (especially in VR) and that get me “ready to fly” faster. Better defaults/auto settings, faster loading and saved custom settings (e.g. preferred aircraft, don’t start on runway, saved pilot/copilot/pax weights, saved world map display settings, saved last position, etc).

Reason: The main obstacle for me to start the sim right now is the amount of time to go from “work computer” to “ready to fly.” Too many steps, to much tweaking required; and also some bugs and crashes. It eats away way too much time.

When the sim “just works” and gets me into the cockpit quickly, aircraft setup the way I like it, I wouldn’t hesitate to start it up way more often than I do now.

That said, I’m very happy with the experience the sim already provides today. I just want to be able to enjoy it more often.

ATC chatting background voices would also add some sense of realism.

Look for the payware add-on FS-ATC_Chatter by Stick and Rudder Studios.
‘over 45,000 audio files’ of real ATC from every continent. I can’t go back to using default ATC because real life sounds so very real.

This freeware shipping mod is fantastic and is hopefully due to become even better through the use of a live positioning data feed.

Are they grabbing the shipping data from AIS? (Basically a transponder for ships)

Yes. Here’s a bit more info:

I would like a nice A330 cough LVFR , pretty please with a virgin livery on top! 300 or 900 not fussy…I would also appreciate a good 777, oh and a classic 747, those were the days.

Got it and I love it so far. I saw this package before, But I thought it was for FSX .
Thank you for pointing it out to me.

I’ll believe it when I see it, lol. (Seriously though, looking forward to that one.)

Same all the way down in TN. (From Saturday.)

I pull up LiveATC.net and listen (if available) to where I’m actually flying. You gotta try it.
