What would make MSFS "complete" for you?

Agree with most have said. Don’t have hours of free time to sim so when I do the CTD’s are frustrating. Better AI aircraft definitely. But mainly I would just like them to fix as many bugs as possible before adding anything else..the sim for me is glorious to look at..VFR is a pleasure to do and if they just fixed the minor annoyances and never added anything again I would be happy with that. Pointless adding new features to break existing features that previously worked fine.

Depends what the new features are. Quantity over quality is never good and things like Reno and new half baked aircraft that I have to download as part of the update are of no use to me. Perhaps that’s a worthwhile new feature right there. Let me decide what I want to download as part of the updates.

Tower View. Fensom mentioned this a few days ago, I believe, and I agree completely. Tower View in FSX was great and I used it all the time. As the pilot of an airliner departing its gate, it was great watching my aircraft from the tower as I pushed back then taxied to the active. Tower View was also great at following a plane high in the sky, being picked up by airports all along its flight path. Lastly, you had a bird’s eye view, with the whole airport spread beneath your aircraft. Please bring this feature back.

multiscreen support…7680x1440 with real world perspective, not stretched

These are optional to begin with. Even I didn’t download them.

I don’t remember getting a choice for the extra aircraft. The point being is give us a choice for extra stuff that isn’t at the sim core and concentrate on the bug fixes and features that have been missing from day one when other sim’s have them. Multi monitor, helicopters, touch support are all examples.

I mean, when I see the extra aircraft that I don’t want that was included in the update, I just select them in the content manager, and press the delete button, and off they go.

Yes but you’ve already had to sit through the update process to download them in the first place. Why waste our time and in some circumstances bandwidth. Best to put them in the marketplace and let the user decide if and when they want to download them.

Not complete, but for immersion’s sake:

Water and shore fx. Maybe I’m sensitive to this as I lived on an island for many years so its absence sticks out like a sore thumb, but the lack of shore break and river fx (waterfalls, rapids) is glaring to me. Half the enjoyment of flying around HI and taking off is to watch the ocean.

Don’t see many mentions of this so it’s probably on the low end of their priorities considering more pressing problems, but I hope to see it eventually.

Global voices for ATC. Sick of the US voices everywhere.
Probably wont happen but here’s hoping!

You’ve said it all. So true and disappointing from MS/AS.

The prior version of MSFS labeled itself “As Real As It Gets”. I would like MSFS to revisit this ideal. It isn’t very “real” when ATC stops communicating. It isn’t very real when clouds don’t produce shadows. It isn’t very real when there isn’t any real world aircraft parked at airports. It isn’t very real when the FMC decides to go its own way. It isn’t very real when a satellite photo taken in the winter is stitched next to a photo taken in the summer - so ground colors clash.

How about regional voices for ATC? I doubt there are female traffic controllers in the UAE, for example. Why can’t traffic controllers and pilots have accents?

18 months after the game was released, I’d still consider it a “beta”. I enjoy the game, and have almost 200 hours of flying this version, but it is far from perfect, and leagues away from “As Real As It Gets”.

I think this term is highly subjective according to who reads it. I’m not saying I disagree. I think you have valid points. But what people consider “As Real as it gets” can be varied from person to person. And different people have different expectations.

While I agree that the sim isn’t perfect. But then again, is there such a thing as perfection? I think a lot of people these days are putting too much emphasis to reach perfection or getting something that is perfect all the time that they forget that perfection is an aim that will never be achieved by anyone or anything, because it doesn’t exist.

And also that what one person considers perfect, other people can still see a flaw that they dislike or something to improve. So there’s no such thing as perfection, there’s only “good enough”. And even so, what people see as good enough varies as well.

I think your points on regional voices for ATC are good points for future improvement. But I never expect them to be shipped outright as part of the launch. It’s a long term project, the sim will continue to improve with new things going forward. We just need to be active in contributing those ideas until we achieve that “as real as it gets” vision.

  1. More multithreading, especially for photogrammetry (forum thread on this).
  2. Airliners (Fenix and Pmdg coming ‘soon’).
  3. Improved ground handling / friction modeling.
  4. Ray Tracing in cockpit.
  5. Engine and DX 12 optimizations.
  6. First person mode including in Multiplayer
  7. Reworked / simpler view system with walk mode
  8. Multiplayer Events, ie fly in to Oshkosh or fly in for conference meeting / flight sim Expo in sim.
  9. Reworked roads, road traffic and a drive mode.
  10. Eventually a career / economy / task system you can do to earn money and buy home properties..

Indeed, this thread is a perfect proof for your words. Everyone has their own idea of what “perfect” means for them, specifically in a product like this that mimics reality, and it is an impossible task to please everyone to the level that everyone would be satisfied. Exactly because of this, I prefer to relax and enjoy the flying with what we have, as well as all the constant improvements we are getting. Possible I’m just too old to get angry with a computer game when it is not exactly like I want it to be.

As for realism the serous Flight Simmers out there. I think there needs to be more study level aircraft and better weather representation. The sim is rather boring without this. Lots Of Simmers have returned back to other sim’s due to lack of this. Asobo/Microsoft need to pay more attention to helping third party developers achieve there goals instead of blocking the process and breaking the sim so these developers can release there products. We have been waiting for PMDG product and so on and they are so close to release but have had another setback due to Asobo breaking it again.

What is the definition of a “serious simmer”?

The serous Simmer are the ones who spend huge amounts of money on on there systems to make it as real as possible for themselves and to learn the correct way to fly, doing the correct procedures and to fly according to the charts and ATC. Some Simmers are real pilots and use there Flight Simms for training. Would you be so kind and and let us know what you consider as a serous Flight simmer.

Really? I have spent several thousands to update my PC and for the peripherals. Yet, I don’t recognize myself in the group of “serious simmers” who are mostly just complaining about how “unrealistic” the sim is. Maybe I am not a “serious simmer” because I don’t use VATSIM, but am quite happy with the current AI ATC and fully capable of completing my flights following its instruction? Basically I don’t even want to belong to that group, I just prefer to enjoy flying.

Yes, they are improving it constantly. Maybe you weren’t here at launch and don’t know how it was back then?
