I didn’t watch the stream, but I’m guessing they are referring to the memory optimizations they were targeting for Xbox that they had to remove from SU15. I think they had said that was a primary driver for SU16, so if that’s not ready, yeah what’s the point in releasing.
For AAU3 and the A320, they were referring to the A320NEO v2 from iniBuilds, yes? Not the stock A320?
Yes, something like 500 MB worth (which on Xbox makes a difference). Apparently the original attempt was unstable, so they had to go back under the hood…
As for A320 the screenshot shows “A320Neo” but not sure if it’s the original Asobo, or the newer Inibuilds A320neo v2 getting the love - I missed that part of the livestream, but I’m sure it will be answered…
It’s disappointing for XBox users but outside the teams control - there’s been no discussion yet about any potential impact this may have (if any) on FS2024. My understanding is that FS2024 is a new sim and largely rewritten code that should help performance so long as the servers are up to the job as more will be processed server side. For XBox users it means no change this year to the issues we face but we do have a new sim to look forward to in November. It remains to be seen what performance vs visuals will be like on console but it’s a good question to pose for the team on the next development livestream in September as they will then be talking about about FS2024. Jorg said that it’s more likely SU16 will be released in early 2025. I’d recommend anyone watching these developer streams and actively engaging in submitting questions they are a great source of info ‘straight from the horses mouth’
AAU03 will improve the v2, not the original A320. True confession: I have not flown the v2 since SU15 launched for all users. After spending many hours beta testing the v2 during SU15 beta, it did not emerge from beta as a personal favorite. This week I will jump back into the v2 to see if I want to participate in the upcoming AAU03 beta or opt out of that. With so many other shiny new things in the sim that I have still yet to explore (and more coming to Europe), AND 2024 coming soon, there is no need (or time) for simming stuff that is not really of high interest to me anymore. There is so much to choose from that works well and can be enjoyed right now!
Jorg and Sebastian also mentioned that the updates they are looking at will be in 2024 from launch because of how that sim was created. The updates will be carried over to 2020 via SU16 once Microsoft completes whatever it is that they need completed for XBox.
No more details around that but it sounded like it’s a 2020 limitation only.
SU16 was planned a few months to resolve the memory issue on Xbox. We still haven’t got anything, no beta, no announcement. I remember we used to talk about this every single day for weeks but nothing’s changed, as Xbox simmers we just kinda gave up. This isn’t okay. To this day I cannot take off with the 787 I paid for in the airports I paid for. The SU15 beta .16 and .17 were major upgrades with the GDK, but long flights heavily stuttered and working title/Asobo didn’t know why. But that worked for us!!! 5+ hour flights in star airports with the 787 were smooth! I understand not using it as the final build but give us the chance to enjoy our sim with a new beta. Right now I have hundred of dollars just sitting because I can’t do much with it. Can you please for the love of God just let the people who were happy with that beta use that beta? It is miles and miles better than what we have right now. Please do something! This is incredibly frustrating and quite honestly reflects a lack of care for the Xbox simmers.
I’m wondering if this SIM issue right now is related to what your saying. Could we be in a transitional period until the release of 2024. I mean all of a sudden we’re having loading an graphical issues with no resolve or even a peep out of the Dev’s or Microsoft Team. From day one (4years), all we get is the live developer streams once and awhile with no direct online forum conversation from them. I don’t understand the arm’s length silence.
Confusing as to why its only some experiencing these issues and not all globally. Powers of deduction would indicate then its indigenous to only certain servers then…? Hmm
It’s 2025 and I believe everyone has been patiently putting up with the visual inconsistencies and performance problems on both Xbox and PC that surfaced since SU15.
Shouldn’t we receive some news on when that is dropping?
