Here is a short flight with it (without talking):

The CRT tablet is like you’re flying this plane in the universe of the Fallout games, it’s like an avionics Pip-Boy.

I’m a FAN of that too!
Got that new series coming out this summer-
Meantime the Norseman flights over some autogen wastelands will have to suffice

What an amazing value for $20. Systems, sounds, flight model, all top-notch. Been reading on the real Norseman, and the performance (or lack thereof) feels spot-on with the description of the real thing.

Really, the main thing that’s missing is the difficulty of refueling the thing in real life, and the high chance of falling in the water while trying to step over the landing gear fairing while preflighting the float version.

Also, it’s absolutely stunning in VR. Between the cockpit detail and the great audio, flying over the water in British Columbia is crazy immersive.

Also love the roll-down windows.

I fly in VR and the CRT tablet screen turns white when I try to use it, otherwise it’s a great vintage aircraft!

@LMBJM, I saw other reports of that (Discord) and it was being caused by the B78XH 787-10 improvement mod v.0.1.15 from KimLada. Do you have that installed, or any other mods that alter the default GPSes or displays? I’m not seeing the issue you report in VR, so I’m guessing you might have an add-on conflict.

(Apparently the B78XH mod causes issues with a number of planes, and the author is aware and working on it.)

Thanks for the tip, don’t have that mod, but as you say some other is causing the white screen. Will look into it.

Besides the online manual is there a .pdf manual somewhere?

Just click the manual link on their website, which opens the manual in Google Docs, and “print to PDF” from Docs. I have a local copy I made that way.

The Norseman is very immersive.

However, I think the AOA on approach is way too high. I have to move the camera high up in order to see above the cowling. For me it’s nearly impossible to make a wheel landing. Because of the high AOA I always get a three point landing. In this video this is not the case:

And, I have the impression the cockpit is too dark when not lit by direct sunlight.

I’ve got to say this aircraft is another stunning effort on Big Radials’ part! It oozes character, and I’m a sucker for this kind of vintage airplane. Looks like it may well make it into my top 10 list next month.

Love the high tech CRT-TV unit. That’s the kind of “glass cockpit” I can get behind

Good times trying to fly in weather like this. Not recommended if you want a ground speed faster than a slow jog … :stuck_out_tongue:

Also in VR and this doesn’t happen to me.

I saw the joke…

Takes off at 60, flies at 60, lands at 60.

With all the posts about the panel being way too dark, let’s hope that someone will do a livery with a white or light grey panel like this, it is so much easier to see the gauges.

Another great plane in the Big Radials lineup! The radial sounds are wonderful, as expected. The feel of the flight model is convincing, behaving like something between the heavier Grumman Goose, and the lighter DHC-2 Beaver. That CRT tablet was an awesome fun idea, too!

VR zoom would be very helpful. Are there any plans to add this?

Agreed! The plane is already a 9/10 in its current state. But if BR could add VR zoom and skis I’ll easily rate it at 10/10.

If some of the Norseman pilots in here have a minute it would be cool if you can check if the aircraft is using the CFD, native propeller and softbody simulation for this thread:
New Propeller | CFD | Soft Body Simulation - Aircraft List

And the adverse yaw numbers for this thread:
Adverse Yaw | Slip | Aircraft list

would be interesting to know, thanks in advance
