It’s been awhile since we’ve been in the cockpit of the CJ4 since switching over to the Airliners
It’s been awhile since my last update, and we have been under full winter conditions for the last month or so which has made the flights allot more interesting.
As well, we’ve since had the introduction of “third person” with FSRealistic, which makes the walkaround process much more enjoyable.
Does anyone know how many Static Wic’s are on the CRJ-900?

Of course it’s not snow covered everywhere we fly!

But we got a call from FlightExec with a great opportunity and since we were already off on vacation, the timing was perfect!
FlightExec is partners with a Cargo operations company out of Alaska and are in need of a pilot with Twin Otter and Kodiak experience.
Since making the trip back home to CYTS
I have been flying cargo out of Timmins and the surrounding areas up to the James / Hudson bay coastal communities.
I have made these trips countless times in real life in Dash 8 - 100 / 300’s as well as a Hawker, and a few types of helicopters.
Aside from Moosonee which is accessible via rail, and a winter road from Cochrane (depending on the winter season) these communities are cutoff from access other than air and water (again, seasonal). As well a…
We have been having a blast doing cargo runs between CYTS and the James Bay coastal communities in the Kodiak. By far, the most “complete” aircraft I’ve flown in MSFS and the most fun.
The target was 106 hours split between the single engine turboprop (Kodiak) and the twin engine turboprop (Twin Otter).
Packed up the manuals and with the last flight down to CYAM to pick up the Twin Otter after some maintenance and a new paint job we hit the 53 hours.

This opportunity would allow me to get back into the cockpit of 3 great planes I haven’t flown in awhile, along with offering up great scenery and challenging flight conditions.
So with that, we hopped into the cockpit of our old CJ4 and headed West!
Our CJ4 waiting in the hangar at FlightExec CYKZ
Our first leg took us from CYKZ to CYEG, albeit the weather was off as it should have been snow covered.
Once on the ground, we rented hangar space from Executive Flight Centre for the night.
And then the “storms” rolled in and we were greeted with fresh powder in the morning for our next leg.
CYEG - CYVR
The final leg, CYVR - PANC brought us over and through the various mountain ranges.
And before we knew it, the lights of Anchorage were in the windshield.
As we’re currently on vacation from the Airline
We flew the FlightExec CJ4 from Toronto to Anchorage to complete some Cargo contracts.
We will be flying the DHC6 (Twin Otter) as well as the Kodiak-100 Series II cargo variants around various parts of Alaska (Primarily).
